I bought this because the bottle looked interesting. I'm not familiar with Gavi or the grape varietal (Cortese). This wine is one dimensional. I don't know how to describe it: not woody, not earthy, not oily, not even especially minerally. The wine has a great acid to it (not tannic) so it went well with a kalamata, tomato, and feta salad. Color: Light green-tinged gold. Nose: Pretty citrus, menthol and ginger. Palate: Lemon icing, white peach, lime, melon and dried herbs. There is a pleasing slightly bitter note adding complexity. A touch of carbonic effervescence keeps the package fresh and light on its feet. Very nice stuff. Reasonably priced. Versatile and imminently quaffable.
