A fruity nose of cranberries, raspberries and strawberries combined with earthy notes of minerals and soil. The taste is fresh and vibrant. Prefer nose over taste...

Ruby, garnet colour. First shy, but with time it opens up from the partly emptied bottle. Cherries, black currants, terpenoids, chalky. Concentrated and with good intensity for a wine of its pedigree. Should age well for a decade. 5/12/16/8

On the tight tart side of things with plenty of acids and very little fruit. Drank more like a high altitude Savoire red with notes of cranberry.

Fairly good, a core of dark berries, middle weight, healthy adidity. Pleasant and well balanced but slightly unambitious.

13€/17USD in Germany, 13% vol., 12 months barrel aged, basic category Pinot Noir from this producer. Eye: Light ruby red with watery edges, medium legs. Nose: Initially barnyard, asparagus(?), sulphur, a little strange. Later raspberry, sour cherry, vanilla, leather, wet woodground. Not very expressive, rather elegant, opens up after some minutes in the glass (11/15). Palate: Fresh, vivid, subtle berry notes, sour cherry, smooth medium(-) tannins, present medium(+) acidity, which is dominant, cool, elegant, some spice (11/15). Body/Balance: Medium-light bodied, …

Consistent with previous notes. Still really good but with more pronounced rustic perfume aromas. At or slightly past its peak, I believe.

Lovely, delicate strawberries, flowers, and cedar. Muddy grass and light notes of white pepper. Expansive in the middle despite its light body. Highly drinkable. A wonderful German Pinot.

Smells of raspberries, strawberries and fresh tea. Begins with a smooth feel on the tounge with berries. Then gives off a more fruity taste, with a touch of redcurrant. Finishes with berries and a hint of licorice. Fairly long finish with a good acid. After a while in the glass it develops a more earthy character on the nose with forest floor, eucalyptus and darker berries. Also a smoother and more easy mouthfeel. Drank it on its own and with …

Nice 'n light PN. Vanilla and strawberry, which blows off. Some sour cherry but also acidity like pickles, mustard seed, overripe strawberry and mandarine peel. There's a warmth to this. Ok lenght. Best with beef.

My initial impression on the nose was that this was somewhat unclean. On the second day the stink was shed and this emerged as a nice German PN it is. Cherry fruits with assortment of spicy aromas and a rustic feeling. In the mouth the fruit tastes vaguely sweet (as is usual with many PN's) but it's still got a refreshing acidity, an essential component these wines. Drink now-2013.

A lovely bottle with great complexity and power for a basic pinot. Spice box, rowanberries, raspberries, blood orange, tomato, liquorice and forest floor. Quite a sizeable palate with perky acidity, sweet pinosity, spiciness and length. No way you could have bought too many of this. At least we didn't.

Direkt från flaskan är det nästan pärlande i munnen. Det är hallon och jordgubbar med lite lakrits och ceder som baktoner. Riktigt gott.

I really like this. Light and rustic, with some barnyard aromas, red fruit and a hint of mellow spices. At the same time very balanced, refreshing and even elegant.

NOSE: Wood, moist stones/cellar. TASTE: Light but not as light as most pflaz spätburgunders. Have a bit more mature taste of old casks. The wood does not take over but gives character to the wine. Has some fruits and just the right amout of acids to match it. The aftertaste is short and a bit peppery. Reminds me of some burgundy pinots.

One of the better spätburgunder at this price...really lovely red fruit character, spices and subtle toasty aromas! Best served chilled

When opening the bottle a little sparkling and red currant taste. It looks quite light in the glass, you can actually look through it. But it is more like sirup, a higher viscosity than other wines. If you leave it a day it gets better. You have ripe berries and a more sophisticated note in the glass.

Sötfruktigt med skön syra. Smak av viol och skogsbär. Våta stenar samsas med en ton av lakrits. Skön pinot karaktär som nog får ett par poäng till med lite mer luftning.

Lovely raspberry flavor, a little darker color than usual for a pinot, fresh and light. A bit short at first, but the taste is getting longer with some air.

Very light red color, even for being a pinot. Nice lingonberry/cranberry nose. Sweet, ripe, light pinot fruit. Slight fizzy feel. Low acid. Very dry finish with typical german feel. Can't put my finger on it, but german pinots all tend to have some characteristic in common that I don't find in others. Very impressive for price/level!
