Decanted for 45 minutes. Seems about right. Spices, black pepper.

Confused by previous reviews that suggest decanting and/or aeration needed; this is a quintessential new-world Shiraz, tart cherries with high acidity, to be enjoyed for what it is...crack open and just drink! If with food suggest simply fare; hot dogs or burgers. Not cellar able. Cheers.

Liked this very much. More fruity than other shiraz but well balanced, very good.

I agree with Danculpitt - this wine definitely needs some air. The harshness and pronounced acidity on opening balances out with some time. I think that acidification is probably going on with this wine. Higher levels of diurnal variation do prevent the acidity from diminishing within the grapes as they ripen. You are typically going to see this kind of diurnal variation at higher altitudes or farther inland. Since the McLaren Vale is right on the coast, the moderating effect …

This really needs a decent decant. On opening it is harsh with the acidity described by others. This wears off over time and you get the dark fruits and spices that come through the nose and in the mouth. Good mouth feel with a relatively shortish finish. Still a decent mid-week bottle of wine.

Fresh nose but also very black fruit. Spice, mint, crack black pepper, meat. Palate follows suit - fresh fruit but also very dark fruit. I am being told this is their aim to be the Tuesday to Friday wine. And McLaren, I am being told, should have a anise note to it. And this does. So apparently the acidity is not acidification (which I always assume it is) but because of the diurnal change in McLaren. Interesting. Don't think I …

Nose is peppery with dark fruit and tobacco notes; pallette more on the jammy side with mild peppery note and modest finish.

This is kind of rough. It's concentrated and tightly acidic. There is a noticeable greenish element on the finish.

Over the top at first, tasted better after breathing fur a couple days.

acid on tongue, ok flavor and some body... putting acid/bubble feeling aside, but occasional dry tannin at the end. Combo not my taste.
