Plush plum and ripe cherry with notes of cedar and tobacco. Fully mature yet far from fading. The tannins are completely integrated — silky, barely perceptible, only faintly drying on the finish. Broad and mouth-filling with admirable persistence. Remarkably vibrant for 30 years of age. At plateau and drinking beautifully.

Fully matured, soft fine tannins . Hint of dark fruits, chocolate, leather. Fun to drink and enjoyable.

Very nice, although a little roasted notes at the end.

This Clinet surpassed my expectations! So much Power & Elegance in the glass. Pronounced nose of red fruit, dried and candied with a sweetness coming from the integrated oak. Lots of tertiary notes of mushrooms and earth. The palette is coating with soft tannins, not drying. I will say that towards the end of the evening it started to fall off and shut down. But at its peak it was a wow! Decant regime: Popped the cork in the morning …

Had one a couple years ago that was really fading, but this bottle was spot on. Medium garnet. Leather, cherry, tobacco, smoke, charred wood, flint, fig, dried cranberry, vegetal, and floral. A lot of tertiary, but enough fruit to carry it. Med+ acid, tannins, and body with a long, wonderful finish. Drink now, but this bottle showed no signs of being past.

I am a real Pomerol groupie, and the 1990 Clinet is one of my favourite wines. However, this has never really hit the spot with me, and I find it untypically angular and somewhat joyless, and if tasted blind I would have guessed a left bank 1995 wine, loaded with tannin, particularly on the finish. The nose is the best feature for myself, and it is now really sensuous, but exposed tannin and lack of fruit without real tertiary integration …

Magnum. 3 hours slow ox and consumed over next 5 thereafter. A wine that did not change much after the first hour of being consumed. Less blueberry and more black cherry, with hints of red raspberries and blackberries. An interesting mineral element that really coated the palate almost like the clay soil from which it came and which led to finish that is a shocking 60 seconds. A truly interesting wine that gets an extra point for such uniqueness.

Acquired 6 bottles new and they have been stored in commercial grade cellar in our home so there is no issue with the provenance / storage history of the wine which I suspect would explain some of the notes that describe no fruit left. First 2 bottles over the years were fine but closed down and offered nothing and were boring and not worthy of a tasting note. Tonight initial taste without any decant was brutish had me questioning the …

Good bottle. Loads of sweet black cherry fruit, good tertiary flavors, lots of weight and persistence. Velvet tannins. Very enjoyable.

Rest in peace poor Clinet. This bottle was as close to DOA as any wine I've ever had that hasn't been vinegar. I don't feel right rating it, but will say if you have any left drink now or sell it to a non-drinking collector.

Bottle was opened 3 hours before tasting. Still dark purple color but with clear brick rim. Good balance. Tobacco, leather and dried cherries. medium length. Past its peak but very enjoyable with our duck breast.

Perfekt gereifter Pomerol. Praktisch keine Altersnoten. Typische Merlot Pflaume. Ist einfach nicht so mein Geschmack.

6th bottle of 12, purchased as a future and stored properly. Exercised caution, because I believe this wine shows considerable variation from bottle to bottle. Once again pristine cork with staining up only 3/8 inch. Can’t say that this bottle looked “young," though some previous bottles did. Much sediment as noted by others, not a problem. Decanted for 2 hours. Garnet color. But tasted even better than last time. Great attack with both fruit and weight. Black cherry on first …

**I’m a sucker for old Bordeaux and this one brings it all. Clay filled, earth laden, light on its feet but relentlessly long finish. This clinet is still one of my favorites because of its true old school style and backbone. Drink

Six and a half years ago, I considered this wine undrinkable. Today, I found something to enjoy. It remains coarse and brutish. But the tannins have mellowed a bit and there are more mature flavors. It’s kind of heavy on Brett and displays enough pyrazines to remind me of a mature Chinon or Bourgueil. Graceless and not ver Pomerol but an intriguing drink at least.

If you like old school Bordeaux, this is for you. Not about fruit here, more about the feel of an aged Bordeaux with the earthy mushroom and truffle bouquet, coupled with depth and power. This is fully mature, while remaining vigorous and fresh. Lots to like here for old school Bordeaux thrill seekers like me. Drink

In line with note from a year ago, this is in its drinking window but is very untypical of a classic Pomerol. The nose is packed with ripe fruit, but the palate is angular and austere while perfectly balanced dominated with bell pepper, (i would interested to find out if they upped the Cabernet Franc in this vintage,).The finish seems to becoming more challenging as the early fruit fades and is over tannic but once again well balanced. This held …

Quite a bit if Verve left. Bordeaux lovers might rate this a touch higher, as it’s classic and balanced.
