Domaine Pierre Labet Beaune 1er Cru Coucherias

Medium red color, more red than black cherry and maybe some strawberry in flavor. Some spice, pepper and a touch of smoke. Silky, nice acidity and minerality as strong as the fruit -- in good balance. Moderate complexity, fairly rich for a red burgundy -- especially at this price point.

brilliant scarlet, bright pinot aromas and flavors with mouth watering acidity. This is gorgeous right now, though likely would gain some complexity with a few more years under its belt. But so tasty right now. A perfect foil to fried chicken, hominy, collard greens and quick pickles...

Somewhat tough, mineraly, leather, earth; austere at its core. Plus horrible experience with what I would call the American/foreigner-bashing "tasting room manager" at this domaine located within the Clos de Vougeot. Huge potential here with excellent vineyard sites, but all wines significantly under perform.
