Longwood Wines Shiraz The Shearer

I'm getting a chance to review this wine several years past every one else. This wine has a screw cap, which almost always means that 7 years off the vine, the wine should still show correctly. By now, the fruit has reduced a bit. I get a a nice boysenberry and cranberry flavor which most likely would not have been evident upon release. good McLaren Vale shiraz at the $15 price point. Good concentration; flavors of dark fruit and currant follow through to a medium bodied palate and a pleasant finish.

Previous CT notes not exactly expansive on this number. It is quite true to type, being fruit forward, lots of dense blackberry and assorted dark fruits, ripe and just a little of the baked fruit, deep color and extract, little purplish red bubbles linger on the surface.
