Leto Chardonnay

Nothing but love for this. Hard to find a Cali chard that delivers at this level for less than 30 bones and this delivers at less than $20. Nice nose of green apple, figs, toffee, meyer lemon, hints of citrus peel. On the palate rich, but not buttery with apple, toffee, citrus peel, and tangerine. Long balanced finish. Strikes a great balance between fruit, acids, and oak. This is still improving and might have a little more upside.

Lots of Cali chardonnay love here. Nose of lemon peel, golden delicious apple, figs, pears, and spice. On the palate, rich and full with green apple, citrus, figs, pears, and a nice spicey oak kick. Finisihes long and balanced, a bit buttery but well balanced by the acids. Great wine.

Vintage Select Industry Tasting (Vintage Select Warehouse, Houston, TX) : Nose of delicious apples, pears, meyer lemon, spice, and buttery oak. On the palate, green apple, pears, figs, meyer lemon, spice, and very well integrated dollop of buttery oak. Finishes long with great balance. This tastes like many other Chards, but there is a rich mouthfeel, and balance on this that I just love. Later, when learning that David DeSante is the winemaker, it makes more sense to me. Worth …
