Domaine des Croix Corton-Charlemagne

I love the place this is in right now. Absolutely à point. Complex, but balanced, oak but as a frame rather than as a flavour, with the weight of fruit still showcased. Drink now and the next 2 years.

Apologise for lack of detail, but this was for a family celebration that didn’t allow much time for contemplation. In a great place, beautiful balance and sufficient power to allow you to realise there is a wonderful thing in there….

Still very reductive and hidden by oak overtones, there is good underlying classic Corton fruit and structure, albeit somewhat less generous due to the 2011 vintage. Very well made, but it needs years to open up and develop, and I am not convinced at this stage it will make it to a lovely enjoyable wine.
