Joel Gott Riesling Columbia Valley

Not very complex but avoids the American over sweet Riesling paradigm.

nearly off dry , walks the line between two styles... it's zingy but wants to have full texture but isn't lots of honey and hints menthol..meh...it's a pass for me especially with so many Riesling @ this price ranges....

This is a very dry style of Riesling. The texture, and the acid is very prevalent. It does not have a streak of minerality like it's German cousins, nor does it seem to have the overall heavy viscosity and mouth feel. There is nice hit of tangy gooseberry, grapefruit, and white apple. The acid a very malic and quite refreshing. The finish shows a hint of wet shale influence to the crisp citrus, apple and tropical fruit.
