Opened three hours before serving then decanted for copious sediment just before serving alongside braised lamb shanks. Not showing its age either in color or tertiary aromas/flavors. Kind of like a Bordeaux from a very warm vintage. I didn’t find this as expressive or as satisfying as the 2001 vintage but still pretty good, especially at the auction price of US$15.

Classic Napa red blend with blackberry, plum, and subtle oak. Full-bodied and smooth.

This wine could have been a little tighter, but despite being well past it's prime, was excellent. Classic dusky bordeaux on the nose. Dark cherry fruit with silky smooth tannins. Medium body with black licorice on the finish.

Still a very pleasant wine. A bit subdued without anything “big” (fruit, tanin, etc). Subtle but rich red fruit (strawberry?) on palette and a lingering finish (I got vanilla, could be rhubarb).

Opened a 3 liter today for Christmas dinner with friends oh my what a hit. The cork was a little spongy and had to finesse the cork out. This bottle had been cellared properly since purchased. A smooth velvety full fruit taste on the lips with a long lingering spiced finish. The guests all agreed that the flavors lingered on your tastebuds adding to the Christmas dinner. 12 of us dinened and emptied the bottle. I was invited back for …

Raisin and plum on the nose with a bit of an overripe brandy characteristic in a good way. Palate has a nice spice with a hint of eucalyptis and a subdued fruit. Finish is lengthy and develops over a good 20 seconds. Drinking well now.

Wine has peaked.. It was enjoyable, Nice right out of the bottle, very approachable. Still some plum and cherry, with a nice medium finish with just a slight tartness, was enjoyed. Glad it was the last bottle though!

Enjoyable but seems to be fading a bit.... certainly a step off from the bottle we enjoyed maybe 18 months back. Nice right out of the bottle, very approachable. Drink up.

much better than a couple of years ago. Needed at least 30 minutes, but was excellent w/ spicey Thai dishes.

Definitely ready to drink up. Lovely brick color with mature tannins. Decanted and consumed over an evening. Needs to open to get the subtle notes.

I have to agree with the others who say this is winding down. Compared to the 2001 this is not nearly as dynamic at this stage. Barely getting anything on the nose at first, though some pretty baking spice comes through after a while. This has smoothed out considerably since my last experience with it and no longer seems to be something different every 5 minutes. However, it's actually got a little bit more fruit and freshness showing through after …

Drank in 2011... was definitely getting a bit towards end of life, IMO. But still delicious! As I am just now getting around to putting this in, can't say I remember taste and smell

Drank with family at an event. A really nice bottle of wine that was a deep red/purple in color. Upon opening the nose smelled of spice and had a nice pleasant taste. Decanted quickly and then poured. Nice flavor of pepper, black cherry, a dose of plum and just a hint of oak. I smelled almost a cinnamon like smell to the wine after tasting. It was quite nice since I love cinnamon. The tannins have certainly softened so I …

Still good..... Nice fruit and well integrated. Tannin's are softer and still drinking well, but reached its peak earlier this year in my opinion. I have 1 left and will enjoy it over the holiday!

Full of berries and toasted oak - really yummy with grilled steaks. We don't think this vintage has peaked yet. Great bottle!

It was alright, i was expecting something a bit more integrated. The wine had some mocha and dark fruit. There's quite a bit of friit in this still. I think this will be better with food next time.

Clear, garnet color; medium intensity. Clean nose, of moderate intensity, with black currant, plum, pepper, clove, and very subtle oak notes. Dry on the palate; medium body; low but detectable acid; tannins that have softened with age. Flavor characteristics include black fruit, especially black cherry, and spice. Moderate length. Good to very good example of a Napa meritage (Bordeaux-style blend).

Upon opening, was a bit tannic and closed up - but after one hour in the decanter, all was well. Nose produced strong berries and very slight oak undertones. Soft mouthfeel, berries still dominate the finish which lingered for up to a minute. Strongest at mid palate throughout the long finish. The winemaker states this will cellar for up to 6 more years, and after tasting it, I'd agree. I doubt it will evolve much more but will continue to …
