Yet another corked bottle from this producer. The bottles that are not corked are very nice, but I think about 50 percent I've what I've opened have been corked. I guess that's why 20-30 year old wines were selling for $20-ish.

Medium intensity nose with white fruit, some flinty minerality and petrol. The palate is more off-dry for my palate despite being a Kabinett. Probably a result of the warm vintage. Apple and pear fruit. Lower acid than most perhaps due to age and vintage. Don't find it oxidized like some cellartracker comments say, so should continue to go longer but not as long as some with the slightly lower acid https://winediplomats.com/

Flawed bottle. Cork showed signs of minor leakage and outgassed from sides when coravin used. Cider nose and flavor.

Somewhat oxidized, which is a common problem with this producer's corks. But, still not that bad, and we drank anyway without complaint.

This bottle was a little oxidized, which was immediately apparent from the tawny color, so it tasted like bruised apples. Or, more like a hard cider beverage. Still decent acidity, so not really bad, just not what it's supposed to taste like.

Lime, tropical fruit, thyme, flowers, just a little sweetness, and perfect acidity. Great food wine and delicious by itself

Light yellow in color. Lovely aromas of petrol, slate, yellow citrus and orchard stone fruits. Well integrated palate shows balanced off-dry poached orchard stone-fruit marmalade, citrus oils, good acidity and a long dried honey finish. This shows the good side of a 2003 Kabinett, as it shows ripeness of a Spatlese. Nice.

Rich for a kabinett and off-dry. Acidity lower than usual for a Riesling.

For a Kabinett this wine was very robust and full of notes of Peach, apple and pineapple. had it with cheese before Dinner just delightfully made wine. Can't beat Reisling

Wonderful aged Kabinett. Very youthful light pale yellow in color. Classic aromas of slate, yellow citrus, herbs and hint of petrol on the nose. Extremely refined on the palate showing good acidity that buffers the ripe peach + pears poached in citrus, hint of honeysuckle and tons of minerals on the long off-dry finish.

With Sichuan Chicken. Perfect pair. Striding the line with ample acidity. Tropical fruit. If it was a little brighter, I would go higher with the score but the hot vintage made it a little higher. Not a bad effort at all. Nicely drinking.

A delight to drink with slight grassy notes, honey, and ripe apples. The wine still comes off as relatively fresh and is balanced considering the level of sweetness and acid. nothing complex but drinks like a solid kabinett that is designed to give you those simple joys in life. For $17 a very solid drinker.

Light+ bodied, traditional styling. Fairly reticent nose, but aligned to palate: honeysuckle, white flower, decent acidity, and on the sweeter side for kabinett. No citrus or petrol or minerality it speak of, just a simple joyous wine. Cork looked tired and soaked - like it was from an early-80s bottle. If that's true for other bottles I wouldn't trust it to age too many more years.

Wow, when these bottles are not cork-tainted, they're really fantastic. Great food wine (especially seafood), or by itself, too. Tropical fruits, lime, and nice acidity to balance the sweetness.

Very pale in color. Lovely aromas of petrol, herbs, citrus and slate. Wonderful light-medium bodied palate shows ripe citrus poached pears, minerality, good acidity and long Spatlese style off-dry finish. This is still so young and drinking superbly for a 2003.

The petrol notes were more gasoline like, so I opened another bottle for our dinner party. I put this bottle into the frig and will consume it on another day, as it's still drinkable...just not dinner-party-worthy.

First of six bottles that arrived here a month ago. Noticeable petrol on the nose, but papaya/lime sorbet on the palate (which is a new flavor for me). Not as high acid as many Rieslings, which I attribute to the age of the wine and the hot vintage (2003). But, it has a nice level of acidity for drinking with (or without) food.

Nose of some petrol. Taste of some sweetness and finished with salinity. Opened a little more after few days in refrigerator. Paired well with spicy Asian food

Clear straw yellow color. Notes of quince, ginger, white peach, dried chamomile, jasmine, flint, chalk. A bit stuffy or musty. Not as fresh as their 2001 Spatlese tasted recently.
