Had a funky kind of overtone when tasted immediately after opening. But after about an hour of decanting it had rounded very nicely into form. Well balanced with earthy flavors. Drinking well now, but could improve with another year or two of cellaring.

The wine displays a moderate ruby core with youthful clarity. The nose offers bright red and black berry fruit - strawberry, raspberry, and blackcurrant - alongside violet florals and subtle forest floor notes, suggesting a careful handling of extraction and minimal overt oak. On the palate, the wine is medium-bodied with warming alcohol (13.5%) and moderate acidity, delivering a rounded yet structured profile. The fruit leans darker than typical cool-climate Pinot Noir (which was my initial guest), with arid, sun-baked …

A pleasant wine with a slightly rustic feel ie not much subtlety; slightly rough like a young Cahors. On the nose the first impression is burnt rubber (over-sulphured?), but this masks a dark fruit nose, not complex or multi-layered. Has a slightly 'dusty' flavour of dry red and black fruits like sloe. Pleasant overall and went well with magrets of duck.

Nose of rubber, monkey glue and spice. Light cherry flavors with added notes of red berries and red raspberries. Medium acidity, tannins and body. Drink now.

Almost smells like blood / rare steak on the nose. A bit of sweet spice on the nose as well. Very rich. Earth, leather, bitter burnt bacon on the palate. Pretty bitter, but with a sweet after-taste / tinge.

Eclectic nose that changes daily. Smokey and brooding. Light to medium body that makes it surprising when the flavors finally hit the tastebuds. Loaded with smoke and that famous Pinotage rubber tire that is very interesting and tasty. I like this alone, but it went great with some top sirloin burger. I think this is a fine wine to try if you are a Pinotage virgin and want to know what it is all about. You may just have to …

I like this. somewhere between a great burg and a central cal piinot noir, it drinks easily, and I think will pair well as a cross-over: salmon, linguine with clams/red sauce, burgers.

This was an interesting wine. It reminded me a bit of one of the earthier cru Beajolais, maybe a Morgon.
