A blend of Baga (98%), Bical (1%) and María Gomes (1%). Aged in both stainless steel (50%) and French oak barrels (50%). 12% alcohol. Deep, slightly translucent ruby red color with faint blue hue. Very open and expressive nose with aromas of black raspberries, sweet black cherries, some roasted spices, a little bit of earthiness, light floral hints of violets, sanguine hints of iron and blood and a touch of leather. Quite a surprise - 100% Baga. Agree with previous taster re. Violets and floral notes on the nose, which is quite pretty mixed with dark and young fruit..also with undertones of minerality of stone and wet gravel. Pencil shavings poke out in the development. Body doesn't kill you with tannins - medium + with nice balance. The tannins allow it to linger at the end without petering off, but I don't detect too much more development toward the later half …

My previous tasting notes still apply, although the nose has become more typical of Baga: more emphasis on iron, earth and leather, less so on those bubblegummy aromas. Dense, intense and well-structured wine with great focus and brightness. Even better than I remembered.

At Latva bar in Helsinki. Fresh dark and red berry nose. Medium bodied, red toned tart berries on the palate with slight efferscevence. Quite nice.
