Supposedly a Merlot - Zinfandel blend, served at 69° F / 20.5° C. Translucent cherry / raspberry on the pour into the decanter, followed by a one and a half hour decant. Served in Riedel Extreme Cab glasses. Medium purple in the glass with a pale pink rim. Leggy. Good clarity. Cherry, raspberry, baking spice on the nose, then smoke and some vanilla as it warms. Plum and camphor on the nose. On the palate, raspberry, sour cherry, and notes of blueberry, bramble, and black pepper, with light tannin and low to moderate acidity on the medium finish. This is excellent for the price - if it had more acidity it could be a $20 wine.
