Too old

I'm not going to rate it because it was well past its prime. The interesting thing about this wine was that upon opening it some juicy black fruit sprang out and then herbal notes kicked in and over an hour the herbal killed everything else. Not much to record here except that it should have been drank years ago.

Way past drinkable - maybe due to our suboptimal storage

Nice, smoth, a bit too soft but ok. I was concerned it was too old but it was fine

Strong nose initially but fades rather quickly. Dark, inky color. Mild acidity; light taste that also fades fast.

Nothing special or recognizable here. There are a few hints of cherry and plum but nothing that stands up and says "hi, how ya doin". This tastes like "red wine", generic and basic. ($8)

Very fine Merlot, actually the best Merlot I've had (admittedly I've had only a few). I agree with the previous reviews: lots of structure and balance. At first I thought I was drinking a Cabernet and was surprised to see the label. Like most of my favorite wines, it's a great balance of earthy, tannic flavors and fruity, acidic notes. Yummy.

Very strong nose of vanilla and cherry. Mouth-drying tannins on the finish.

Explosive white pepper nose nose with burst of fruit with medium body. Easy, delicious and satisfying drink. Lacks the minerality to be a food wine. Tasty but short finish.

popped and poured. somewhat pleasant with food for about 30 minutes, but the wine started fading, not much fruit left, I took a sip about 3 hours later and the wine was rapidly oxidizing. drinkable, but past it's prime, i'm glad this was by last bottle.

Color: Dark and deep red. Bouquet: full nose deep cherry, smoky tobacco leaf nose; round mouth feel and smooth tannins; full fruit body with subtle complexity; a touch of sweetness; drank well the second night as well; this is a pretty big wine; not for the faint of heart; a sleeper and a great value

Spice and blackberry on the nose. On the palate, dark berry fruit with hints of cocoa, and earth. A has a smooth, soft texture but with a somewhat tannic finish. A good, everyday drinker for the price.

Deep, dark dense black-purple. Lots of fruit, depth, complexity and balance. This wine feels very nice in my mouth!

Dark and highly extracted. This is not a subtle wine, but heavy on oak, mocha and jammy cherry flavors. Powerful and heavy handed, this is not a wine to my tastes. It seems they have sacrificed refinement and athenticity to get a mass producable attention-getting wine.

Cork fell apart upon extraction. All heavy oak notes are gone. Nothing but red fruit with a bit of fizzle. Drink now now now!

Great aroma, but disappoints on the palate. Not very fruity. Very dark, earthy tones. Still a bit tannic. I was expecting more so I lowered my rating from 2009. Will keep this label until 2011 before drinking another. Perhaps it will round out. I remember most CyT wines need a lot of open time, so this may be better tomorrow.

Simple but not plain. Interesting. Medium body, blackberry aromas, pepper and spices on the mouth. Soft but well structured. Goes extremely well with chicken with guava and blue cheese.

I decanted for an hour. Not sure - it seemed to be lacking something - pleasent, smooth, some fruity but bland - short term flavour but not enough body?. However good value for money

Funk on the nose - animal hair or something. Wasn't elegant or smooth but was enjoyable and interesting - became more and more fruit driven as it aired, plum gave way to blueberry.
