Screw cap. 13.6% alc. Decanted 30 minutes. Jubey, blackcurrant, a bit of cedar and pencil shaving. Not as much eucalyptus and mint as I was expecting, which was a positive. Tea like tannins. Good now and for at least a decade.

The aroma takes me to the Aussie bush because it’s in that setting that I’ve consumed wines like this. It’s not identifiable as Cabernet, at least certainly not on the nose. Aussie dry red. Nothing souped up about it which is nice. Fruit is very different from Margaret River or Coonawarra Cabernet. 13.6%, screwcap.

The palate follows suit in flavours and opens with a very sweet palate that is bold, buxom, with a jelly-like texture that lacks structure and definition. The eucalypt, mint, Ribena and blackcurrant cordial reflect a Barossa style CS. The mid palate …

Generous red fruits on the nose with tobacco and spices. Palate is full of flavour and has great length. This is quite approachable now but will develop very nicely over the next 10+ years.
