Never opened up over hours. Some nice fruit underneath, may need a few years.

Dark garnet colored, medium full bodied, bright vibrant forward dense black berry, ripe black raspberry and black current fruits with notes of cigar box, earthy leather, anise, graphite and spicy oak and hints of dark mocha chocolate with gripping but approachable silky tannins on the lingering finish. https://unwindwine.blogspot.com/2025/08/vintij-sandestin-food-and-wine-dinner.html

Double decanted for weekly wine group with Wahington state - red blend - theme. This was awesome. Think it was 7th of 10 bottles and pallets are showing some fatigue, but no one picked up on this being a ten-year-old wine initially. Credit to the wine making team, it was obviously past primary flavors but yet holding on brilliantly. Bottle was gone after re-visits by the time we left.

extraordinary! It still needed a little air to bring it together -- even at 10 years. The Merlot and Cab Franc blend was wonderful with steak Diane.

Really nice. Actually could go for another 5-10 yrs. Color is super youthful. Tannins are still strong. At first, it doesn’t give much. Absolutely closed off. Only oak (coffee and chocolate and coconut). But after an hour it starts to taste amazing. Nose: blackberries, fresh strawberries, eucalyptus, cough syrup, chocolate, coconut. Palate: blackberry, burnt sugar, strawberry, eucalyptus. The acidity and balance are perfect. A little hot but the acidity and fruitiness help. The finish is long but becomes bitter quickly. …

Bought from WTSO. Super excited to try this wine! Color. Dark saturated purple. Especially for 10 years of age. Nose. Sweet cherries, warm kirsch, tobacco, black fruits, cedar, aged leather. Palate. Almost fully mature. Coffee grounds, chocolate, cherries. Very enjoyable and very dynamic wine. I really like the depth and complexity with this wine. The finish lasts 30-45 seconds. 45 minutes after opening, the nose reveals unami, soy, and a rich dark coffee smell.

This is a dark violet opaque wine. This is a blend one would typically find on the East bank of Bordeaux. This wine does have New World characteristics with its 14.9% alcohol. Fortunately, the wine doesn't come across as jammy. There's plenty of plum, cherries, and coffee along with some underlying herbaceous elements on the palate. This is a very rich, big bodied wine. The intensity is potent with a generous finish. There are some drying tannins remaining. In spite …

Not a style I regularly drink, but, nonetheless you can tell this is a quality wine. Rich, exuberant New World fruit with a plummy, plush style. Firm, prominent tannins buttress the wine, albeit they're a touch coarse and nowhere near integrated. This needs more time in bottle. If you open it today, serve alongside a big juicy steak. It can more than handle it. ~93.

Beautiful merlot-dominant blend from FM. Cassis and raspberry, saddle leather, mocha and dark chocolate, stones and pencil lead. Minerals, more mocha and spices on the finish. Fine, but solid tannins hold this wine firmly together. I will develop a few more years and then maintain deliciousness for another decade. Enjoy!

Delicious, savory, Merlot-dominated, "Right Bank" blend from Force Majeure. Dark cherry and cassis fruits with graphite, cedar pencil, flank steak, dark chocolate and a strong, iron-y mineral streak. The tannins are firm but turning silky and sweet with a finish that goes on for 1 minute plus. Not your typical soft merlot though as the hefty dose of Cab Franc gives this wine a bit of an edge. Really nice with at least 15 years of life left in it.

Lipsmacking, teeth-coating deliciousness. Dark chocolate-covered cherries with some plum notes for good measure. Mocha, dark chocolate, coffee, minerals and dust. Still brooding, it needed 2-3 hours of decant before it really started to sing. I think it can use another 2-4 years of bottle age before everything knits together and, when it does, it's going to be spectacular. It has the bones to last another 20 years.

Nice depth of flavor, classic mountain merlot dark cherries and dark, dried fruit tones, but without any jammyness or sap.

Amazing wine. Hour long decant at restaurant. Went great with ribeye steak. Earthy notes on the nose and balanced acid and tannins with mushroom, rosemary, dark cherry and black pepper. Really nice.

Fantastic blend that has a lot going on at PNP. Chalky fine mouth drying tannins that dissipate with slow ox and reveal dark broadening core of dark fruit, with spice and licorice. Well structured acidity this bottling should continue to develop and will be fun to follow. Only problem for this guy is I have one bottle left. In a great spot to pull one and follow. Would have been nice to have some to taste on day two but …

Fantastic expressive nose of blue fruit, herbal notes. Fuller bodied with good acidity. The palate is a lovely blue fruited gravely concoction of goodness. Fairly tannic on day one and the brisket we had complimented nicely. A bit smoother day too. Very tasty to drink now, consider holding for a year or two.

2nd FM. And this is even better. Brilliant merlot doMinant blend, with 30 CF 16 CS and 4 PV! Bold notes of dark fruits, licorice and tobacco. Ample weight on the palate, juicy fruits, with cooling herbs and some mint. Fine acidity and chalky tannins. Great wine.

Purple in color. 14.9% ABV. 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet France, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon and 4% Petit Verdot. Heady nose of red and blue fruits, molten licorice and Whitman Sampler box. Big and rich. Full bodied and perfectly balanced. Raspberry, blueberry liqueur, tobacco and chocolate truffles on the palate. Tremendous length on the finish with prominent, silky tannins. Gorgeous red blend and for me the Cabernet Franc is the hero. Best over the next 4-6 years.

I found the notes in cellar tracker to be right on. The wine is still full-bodied and full of cedar, graphite, blueberry, inky, and pencil shavings. The fruit is on the dryer side and the finish is still a bit astringent. The wine calls for a major pucker up and lip smacking at the end. I know there is quite a bit of merlot, but this wine is definitely not femine. My concerns would be if the fruit continues to …

An intense Napa experience from a WA wine. Explosive oak and jam. Wasn't surprised to see it was 50% Merlot. Love this.

Inky color. Big rich nose. Notes of pine forest, cedar sauna, camphor, blackberry pie. On the palate, rich, ripe berries, boysenberry syrup. Nice tight persistent tannins. Long lingering finish with black olive and smoked meat. Strikes a nice balance between the woodsy/savory side of things and the fresh/fruity side. There's a touch of bitterness in the finish which holds me back from scoring it higher but it's not offensive. A very nice, remarkable wine overall that would do well at …

Decanted for three hours then consumed over the next three. I am happy for everyone else, but I was unable to pierce the oak prophylactic sheathing the wine in order to discover the fruit and complexity underneath. Not that the oak was raw and salient, rather it is integrating nicely, but still remains too determinative of the flavor profile. That being said, the wine presented as suave and sensual across the palate, but I would recommend time.

This ripe and earthy Right Bank blend is quite open-knit at the moment, though it should be better in a year or two. Cherry red in color and full in body, the wine offers aromas of black cherry, graphite, and gravel. Tastes of blueberry, red licorice, and fresh white pepper, with a grainy yet sweet finish. Blend of 50% Merlot, 30% Cabernet Franc, 16% Cabernet Sauvignon, and 4% Petit Verdot. 14.9% alcohol. I was an early buyer of Force Majeure, …

We had this at the 4/21/18 spring release. It had a rich, tight bouquet of plum, smoke, mocha, cocoa and spice aromas. The palate was tight and dry with flavors that followed the nose. This definitely needs time.
