Dark, baked / dry fruits, tar, tobacco, lots of length and plush mouth feel. This is quality Barossa Shiraz.

{cork, 13.2%} Luxurious mouthful of sweetly chocolate-and-cassis wine. Medium weight, with fine dusty tannins, polished french oak. Nicely mature, with any rough edges gone, it's rich, with just a passing hint of Coonawarra mintiness, and a medium/long, even finish. Very impressive, if overpriced. Probably at best over the next decade.

Despite the high alcohol, it’s lean and peppery on the nose. Its full-bodied weight seems to derive mostly from alcohol, as the black fruit is baked and over-ripe. Coonawarra Roadshow (Ivy, George Street, Sydney) : biscuit, red over black currant fruit, cream, slight coconut….in the mouth there are dense thick tannins laying over the creamy black fruit. Quite broad on the palate with spice and alcohol heat on the finish. Hmm
