Les Vins de Vienne Saint-Joseph Le Biez

(After a 2-hour decant): Very dry, not much fruit. Alcohol is noticeable. Not very appealing at this stage.

Pours inky purple. Bacon and berry notes on the nose. On the palate, crunchy, ripe cherry and blackberry fruit, licorice. Tannins are grainy and powerful but there's enough fruit in here to stand up to it after a short decant and certainly in a couple of years. Very good.

Blood, cow pasture, mushrooms, bitter cherries, cranberries, pencil shavings. Nice structure, will be great after 2023.
