An old friend from back in the day...last bottle from release, decanted for sediment...the color is gorgeous garnet black cherry, youthful Burgundy-esk...big nose of tobacco wrapper, sous bois earth, plum liqueur, cherry cordials, pencil...in the mouth surprisingly youthful with some tart cherry, pomegranate, plum fruit...acid kicked up, the once rich and ripe fruit is thinning...not really complexing, but nothing off putting either...some tobacco and walnut oil...dried herbs...but i'm diggin the brightness...youthful silky sheen of fine tannins...finish a little bitter...still quite …

Robert Parker is this one. After 25 years, this is a beauty.

Small blind taste. Cali Ringe guess. Purple paint on the nose, black raspberry dominant. Decent structure and balance.

'Off' smelling and off-putting. Tastes stale. Unwilling to serve to guests. Still a few bottles remaining-hoping this is not representative of the rest. Have come to understand (sadly, from repeated experience) how un-age worthy most Cali cabs are, with 1994s being the leading culprit.

Still good after 16 years. Last legs though. Enjoyable nonetheless

Ready to go...clear light purplish hue that seemed to be fading. Strong aromas of minerals and dark fruit that yielded a rounded and light gripping taste that wanted to be more than it was. Maybe that was me. Tannic structure was smooth...leaving a nice, but not long fruity finish. Enjoyable.
