10 years old, and this thing is rocking! Lemon curd, touch of vanilla, smooth on the palate with a beam of acid.

PnP. Clear pale gold. Nose shows subtle pineapple and more pronounced banana chips (my first use of that descriptor for a wine, if memory serves, but accurate). Pleasant, lightly weighted mouthfeel, reminiscent of lemon custard, with nice acidity on the finish. Perhaps past its prime, but drinking very well, and continues to improve with air. $60 from the DuMol list in Fall of 2015.

Light golden yellow… looks younger than it’s age. Lovely nose of half-charred whole lemons and some minerality. Palate has a good fresh medium acidity and is more on the lemons and green melon end of the spectrum rather than tropical fruits. Lots of distinctive character and finessed winemaking. Lacks a bit of power on the finish but it is a lovely wine and still has time on its side, although it doesn’t seem to have the acidity to sustain itself …

PNP into Zalto Burgundy glass (“Leaf” day): Pale golden to the eyes. A lot more oak and much more toasty than the clare tasted alongside. A lot more like a tightly knit young Burgundy but the alcohol level shows too. 93 points.

Tropical fruit with a nice touch of brioche balanced by a light vein of acidity. I really like the weight and texture of this wine. At age seven, it is strutting it’s stuff nicely. One of the more balanced wines I have tasted from the Charles Heintz vineyard.

Last bottle of the ‘13 Isobel. My wife thought the wine was fantastic and she is pretty particular on her California whites. I thought the wine was excellent. Kerry was adamant with me on a phone call that the wines were not meant for holding, but let me tell you, this wine was excellent. Great job Andy and team. We are finishing our ‘12s and ‘13s this summer during SiP.

Largely consistent with previous tasting note - shifting a little away from the fruit and a little towards its more tannic side, but this is still quite lovely as it heads towards maturation.

Lemon curd, stone fruit with a touch of oak influence come together nicely. Good acidity keeps the wine fresh. Wonderful nose with good complexity and depth. Good juice.

The problem with naming a wine after one of your kids instead of just using the made up (most recent owner) vineyard name is that kids grow up, owners move on, wineries change and oh and like NO ONE ELSE is going to use your daughter's name on wines they make from fruit bought from the same vineyard so no one knows (unless you tell them but then why name the wine after your daughter?) where your (presumably yummy) wine …

Pop and pour. In the glass, clear, light pale gold. On the nose, citrus, honeysuckle, and a background note of slate. On the palate, crisp, but not dry; there is ample fruit here, married to just enough minerality to keep the proceedings interesting. This is still on the young side, and I think a few more years in the cellar will be beneficial.

Less limestone grit than the Kistler, and less of a citrus profile than the Aubert. The limestone note is here, but just a little bit softer fruit on the front. The fruit profile is more youthful mango. Quite enjoyable. Acidic finish. Something endearing about this wine. Have one of the current vintage on order and glad to have it in my collection.....to enjoy in a few years.....

Stone fruit combines with good acidity and spice notes from the light touch of oak. All the components are well integrated. A couple more years in the bottle with bring out more complexity. Good juice!

Fine, fleshy, rich, but balanced, orangepeel, butter, good citrus-acidity. Much better on Day 2, no rush to drink this, even onm Day 3 it performs very well. #X-Pensive Winos go West

DuMOL's Chardonnay Isobel is sourced entirely from the Charles Heintz Vineyard. With vines averaging 32 years in age, the winery has been provided with good substrate to craft this fleshy Chardonnay. Barrel fermented and aged for 13 months in French oak (39% new), it was allowed to undergo full malolactic fermentation. Offering rich aromas and flavors of pit fruits, baked apples, pine nuts, wet stones and vanilla, it is a medium-bodied, freshly acidic wine without alcoholic heat. There is, however, …

Mothers' Day Dinner (Friends' House, Hong Kong) : Distinctive light sherbert drops colour. Nose is lifted, light slightly candied fresh lemon, mandarin orange.....mayer lemon? Palate is beautifully clean, precise citric attack with a slightly candied sweetness on the mid-palate, very light in its oak treatment, quite heady on the finish but without any heaviness. Really enjoyable. My first of a case. Looking forward to how this might evolve.

A very generous wine with layered fruit, where stone fruit dominate, on the nose but also a waxiness and some herbal notes to give a freshness. The acidity is mouthwatering and well integrated with the wine. There is almost a sweet touch on the palate of the wine.

Vindredi (California Chardonnay) (Bellevue, WA) : Tasted blind. Lemon and citrus nose. Rich and round but balanced out by great acidity throughout. Green apple, lime zest, and great fresh acid to balance out the richness. Lovely.

Quite delicious...not too much oak, but rather more tropical in its flavor profile. Honeysuckle nose with a hint of minerals. On the palate there's lemon and herbs. Long, complex finish. Lovely bottle.

West of West SF, nose of smoky citrus fruit, minerals, mouth coating on the palate, more smoke, layers of flavors, subdued which suggests it needs another year or two in the cellar, medium body, long finish that lingers and demands another pour. One of two great Chardonnays tasted today. Past vintages have proven this wine ages gracefully and improves over time.
