Opened this to go with some Thanksgiving leftovers and a Buckeye win over Xichigan. I'd be in a good mood even if I was stuck with a grocery store Apothic, but this Burgundy is in a very nice spot. Just a hint of spice up front, very well balanced, with silky tannins trailing off. Lighter body. Seems like it will safely hold for several more years, at least.

Light red colour. Floral nose with raspberries, some cherries, hints of undergrowth, but the nose still is surprisingly young at 14. Medium minus body, raspberries, some cherries, some mineral, high acidity, some tannin, and a fresh aftertaste with some tannin. An elegant and relatively light style, will last a lot longer, 90 pts.

Tasted over 2 hrs, bottle has an enormous punt -med dark red -red fruit wet stone minerality -med/med+ acidity gives nice lift, med/med- weight faded focused earthy dark red fruit stony tar saline and some early mature notes, med tannins have a mild bitter edge -first time tasting this producer, good though doesn't quite meet expectations for the vintage, decent complexity and overall good value, squarely on its mature plateau

Earthy, minerality reminscent of a solid Gevrey-Chambertin, almost a ferrous quality to this. Supple body, moderate acidity without much presence of fruit. This was drinking very well today and likely better with a savory meal.

Ruby-garnet, clear. A: musky blue and lack fruit, leather, exotic spices, violet. F: floral, bursting with concentrated fruit, starts toward darker then blooms into pomegranate and star anise. Really nice perfume throughout, good concentration, round but not plush. Tannins and oak are fully integrated, a bit polished but not glossy. This wine seems great to me. Maybe further proof that I don’t know anything! Especially about burgundy. Oh well!

Shipped in very cold temps from WTSO. Nose of very strong funk and manure w/ a faint medicinal cough medicine fruit aroma as well. Funk blows off somewhat but not completely. Dark fruits of plum, dark cherries, black cherries, spice and mineral on the drying chewy finish. Not sure if this will integrate better with a few more years. Lacks harmony and elegance at the moment.

I had the 2009 version of this wine, and both bottles were undrinkable, burning rubber nose and got worse from there. This bottle was a pleasant surprise, intensely perfumed floral nose, palate is pure fruit, cherry and a touch of cranberry - very new world profile.

I've had my share of MSD wines, and for whatever reason both this and the 2012 vintage of the same don't resonate with me. Overwhelming aroma of forest floor and menthol, it's just horrible (to my palate). I hate to say it, but if someone had this as an introduction to Bourgogne, I think it would turn them off to the region. At the price, I'm twice as disappointed...

Still fruit forward, yes, but beautiful. Balanced. Good acid, soft tannins, full mid palate, medium body, long length. Straight pop and pour. Leaves my mouth watering. This begs for a juicy roast chicken to counter the acid. Love it.

Overly acidic and lacks depth. Decanted and drank two glasses over four hours, corked and then finished the next day. A little more character on day two but still Disappointing.

De Chambolle à Morey - Grands Jours de Bourgogne (Gilly-les-Citeaux) : Wine tasting. My first experience with this producer. Cherry jam, entirely fruity and primary, not incredibly balanced for my preferences.
