100% Cab Sauv. Fermentation stainless steel, macerated 3 weeks on skin. Age in new oak French oak barrels for 12 months. Bottled in May 2018. Somontano very strong in Intl varieties due to proximity to France. Garnet in glass- starting to evolve. Very herbaceous, green bell pepper, black currant leaf, vegetal, black currant, black plum, oak integrating well. Leather, vanilla, tobacco. Palate very round and sweet, far less green than the nose. Drink now. Great value for money.

Garnet color; oak tobacco cherry dark fruit pepper plum; medium body and very balanced acidity. Surprisingly smooth for a 15% cabernet.

I poured the wine into a decanter and followed its development over a period of four hours. The wine was dark ruby in colour and offered stewed dark berry aromas on the nose. On the palate the sweetish wine showed stewed dark berries, cherry confit, chocolate and spices, with medium-level acidity, harsh, aggressive, medium-plus tannin, some heat from the alcohol (15% ABV) and good length. A medium- to full-bodied, disjointed, overripe, syrupy Cabernet that did not give much drinking pleasure. …

Powerful Cabernet-Sauvignon with a typical Spanish round-off. Clear fruit, barrique not overwhelming, despite being a Reserva (this is a compliment). Improved with airing and would surely last for some more years in the cellar. Balsamic fruit notes lingering for a decent while after each sip, for my taste lacking a bit of structure as balance to achieve a higher grade.
