Gundlach Bundschu Chardonnay Rhinefarm Vineyard

Golden yellow hues. Really pleasant blend of crispness and fruit/creaminess. NOT your typical California oak-bomb chardonnay. Has some depth to stand up to more substantial or richer foods.

Crisp with a touch of citrus.

Light, refreshing, delightful. Love this Chardonnay and I'm a 98% red wine guy...It's that good!

This is a really nice example of what is often referred to as a "California Chardonnay", meaning a buttery flavor profile and with noticable oak. It happens to be a style I enjoy (despite it's current lack of popularity.) This particular example is well balanced by a lot of fruit, such as pear, apple and some hints of citrus, along with the buttery mouthfeel and a creamy finish. Highly recommend for those who like the style..

We enjoyed the change of pace, relative to most CA chards, but nothing made me say WOW.

Well made, but I'm still not a big fan of CA style chards and this is one of them. Not to my taste, but for the style, restrained and balanced.

What an expressive nose for a Chard. I was getting so many things; A crazy floral note, peaches, banana, a touch of citrus, almonds. The floral note kind of threw me though. Great nose. Crisp, refreshing on the mouth. Beautiful stone fruit flavors. A touch of tropical fruit, but really light. A bit of lemon rind. Almost a lemon custard. Almond desserts with a really long finish. It's tough to top this for a CA Chard, in my opinion.

Sweet edge to it, somewhat oaky. Not to my taste.
