Final bottle (of 14) purchased @ Costco in 2020 (14.5% abv - $10). From Cairanne, a new appellation (2016) in the Côtes Du Rhône. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan, exact composition is not stated. Served after 1-hr decant with Meat Lasagna, Garlic Toast, Peas, and salad. Slightly faded ruby red on the pour; Clear in the glass. Red berries on the nose, black cherry, on the palate. Medium to Light -bodied; Bright & Refreshing with some spices, …

Fresh aromas of crushed raspberry and herbs, slightly floral. Somewhat tart cherry body with dusty tannins and dried herbs. Some vanilla oakiness in a medium length finish. Paired very well with tonight's boeuf bourguignon.

Found this 2017 Creation Grosset Cairanne at Costco in 2023. Not quite as perfumey and layered as the 2019 I tried last year. Still a good fruit forward, lush and velvety, deep red Rhone for comfy weeknights at home. Opens up nicely after a few hours and still very good on day 2.

Sharp and acidic on the nose and the palette, first reaction is an unpleasant shiver. Floral notes, almost perfumed, black pepper, arugula, and overripe berry.

Light-medium red color. Drank a pour from the wine pairings at Meritage. It's ok, but not something I'm thrilled with. Strawberry, rather herbaceous, cherry, lighter body, anise.

This is a good value wine for $14. It has big, blurry fruit that strikes me as a touch overripe, along with black pepper and gamey notes. Some would call it good “pizza wine,” but for me it’s not quite good enough to purchase again, even to eat with pizza.

Rhone fruit bomb. Checks all the boxes for a $12.99 bottle. Nice nose that shows subtle scents of sous bois and crushed dark fruits. Medium-to-full bodied on the palate, with a velvety texture. Shows very good depth and focus on the mid-palate. Nicely balanced, with a moderate acidity that complements its fruit-forward personality quite well. The fruit-drenched finish displays fine length, notes of garrigue and mineral, along with a slight bit of grip. My only mild complaint is that I …

Great blend from Vauvluse near Chateau Neuf du Pape. Ripe fruit, dry and mellow. Would benefit fro longer cellaring.

Beautiful cherries in the nose that then continue in the mouth. Hints of pepper and herbs mix together with the fruit in a great balance. Might have too much fruit for some palates but we loved it.

This wine is a hit in my house. It has luscious red and black cherry fruit, some spice and just a little bit of a rustic edge. The sweetness is perhaps a bit higher than it 'should' be, but goes along well with some acidity and a finish that still has some attractive grip to it. Lots of pleasure for the $. 89+

Lighter and brighter than most Rhone and CdPs. Very friendly and enjoyable, a good daily driver with food.

Impulse purchase @ Costco. I’d gone to purchase more Petra Zingari Toscana but they had sold out so I selected this offering from Cairanne, a relatively new appellation (2016) in the Côtes Du Rhône instead. A blend of Grenache, Syrah, Mourvèdre and Carignan (14.5% abv - $9.99), but the exact composition is not stated. Served at room temperature with BBQ Ribs, Macaroni Salad & Slaw. Clear ruby red on the pour. Red berries on the nose, black cherry, on the …

Solid entry level Rhone. Cherry, red and blue berries. Spice, black tea, and dried herbs. Starts out simple builds. Not complex but enjoyable.
