Glace & Rocher Pinot Noir

Appearance: Light mid red, some translucency, weak tears. Nose: Initially delightful mix of vegetal and red fruits. Some pipe tobacco. Quite potent on the nose. By the end the fruits had reduced. Palate: initially light tannins dominated and then strawberries came through after about 30 mins. The strawberries and red fruit taste was nice. My first Swiss red. Clear garnet, much deeper than expected. Light, fruity aroma, gentle spice, cherry and cassis. Nice taste, a mulled wine character - juicy, good acidity, some sweet fruit, more spice; light tannin. Not as luscious as my favoured pinot style but very creditable for the price, especially given the provenance. The next day, just the same. [Screwcap; 13% abv; Aldi, £9.99].
