This is fresher than I remember earlier years. Yes, it's a Southern wine, certainly, with sweetness from the ripe grapes, the warmth of the sun, spicy twist, but the balance is impeccable. Youngm but quite open for business. #JR&Co

Rich and rustic. Full bodied with fine tannin supporting dark fruits, cherries, tobacco and tar.

Dark plum, blackberry earth and light spices on the nose initially. The longer it was open, the more it evolved towards red cherry with slightly more prominent spice notes. Between medium and full bodied (15% ABV) with bright black cherry upfront, moving to red cherry as it opens. Good depth and density through the mid-body and shows a mix of red cherry and darker red cherry to go with the brighter upfront notes. Tannins and acidity on the backside provide …

Sweet cherry fruit from a cast iron flask with a bit of dark chocolate swirled in - tannic rich velvety and alcoholic - nice antidote for the mistrals blowing through now in Sardegna cooling things off and turning off the vermentino spigot.

Italy walkabout tasting, no detailed tasting notes. Quite rustic, grainy tannins.

Compared with the bold and chocolaty 2016, this "Terre brune" Santadi is rather disappointing for a premium wine from Sardinia, not worth the full price > 30/35€. Paid 21€ sale price, so the disappointment is more tempered. But even at 21€, the QPR is rather bad... 85-87 points

Deep brick red colour with orange meniscus. Superb bouquet of wild cherries, rose hips and oak. On the palate - mature, oaky, well balanced and elegant but also with great depth and length. Oak is to the fore, mature red fruit flavours add balance and the length is incredible. Superb bottle of wine.

Really nice Sardinian wine. Dark fruits, earthy. Pretty nose. Needs time.

Used Vinturi Aerator, improved it. A clean(no Brett), but undistinctive(no terroir or minerality) Grenache. A good everyday wine.

Giacomo Tachis: Racconta (AIS, Parco dei Principi, Rome) : Deep, dark purple, lots of tartaric acid crystals and some pigmented sediment. On nose, big earthiness, moderate fruitiness, and saltwater taffy. Nose continued to develop with time in the glass. On palate it’s not as expressive, with minerals and earth, with very slight fruitiness; high acidity, high level of slightly astringent tannins. Very young; needs a few more years of bottle age. Interesting.
