Casale Dello Sparviero Chianti Classico Riserva

Decanted about an hour. Very smooth, balanced, round wine. It had some complexity with anise, tobacco and a little tar. A pretty good wine.

nose of iron, leather, old wood and dried leaves. palate was light-medium, tart cherries, licorice, salt water, anise and sage. balance was good but finish could have been longer.

lush dark cherry and earth nose; immed tasting was disjointed with a thin mid palate and unintegrated oak; then really opened up over the next hour with dusty red currant and tart cherry notes; some eucalyptus and chalk
