Domaine Labet Poulsard En Billat

This is a very good Jura red, although some other reds from Labet in the last year or two have blown my mind which this wine does not quite do. Not every wine can do that, of course. Strawberry, cherry, blood orange, roses, mint and meat - a bit lactic, a bit citrus peel bitterness but really very delicious and chuggable.

Slight barnyard funk. Nice acidity and good fruit but overall very light and surprisingly tame for a Poulsard.

Elegant yet wild, with no signs of flaws. Cranberries, wild strawberries, raspberries and sour cherries alla mix in this light bodied, refreshing and chuggable wine.

Surprising wine, so clear at the hue check, but so characterfull on the palate: gentle berries juice grenada, orange peal, light tobacco, a touch of liccorice on a mineral and slightly reducted backbone. Slowly the hue evolves after twenty minuts on an brown color, with plum notes. Natural and alive. So easy to drink, no idea of the potential, a random of pleasure. No number rate here.

Cowberry juice in the basis. Fresh, sonorous. At the beginning a little bit nervous, a lot of animal tones. After aeration developes and berries, plums, little spice comes out. Good.

Light bodied. Crab apple, a slight note of walnut skin. It perfomed a bit better with a slight chill. Not terribly deep or refined, but not bad and would be good with roast chicken. Frankly overpriced.
