Apex Cellars Chardonnay

Reasonably creamy texture, but has a bit of a tartness to it, like a dash of lime or grapefruit in an otherwise more rounded generic chard taste. Underwhelming and vaguely disappointing, even at the low price I paid for it.

Popped and vinturi'd, nice nose of vanilla and mango, pretty appealing. Noticed the high alc of 14.8% and was hoping it might be masked w/a buttery, creamy texture and flavor...NOT, this tastes of rubbing alc, after letting breath for a half hour, some of the alc blew off, but this is way too hot. A shame, as the nose is fragrant and enjoyable. Major pass.

Label: Our Chardonnay is unusually complex, with ripe varietal fruit, a hint of butter, toasty oak and a creamy finish combined in an elegant balance. Review: Pale yellow color. Toasted Oak is dominate on the nose. I also get aromas of Butter, Fragrant Pears and Basalt. There is a very subtle Earthiness and Minerality. If you don't over chill this wine you can pickup some Stewed Apples on the nose as well, which is nice. Buttered Toast, hints of Pear …

Odd aroma reminds me of warm fermentation - slight scorched marshmallow with some lemon. Not quite clean wood, some fruit but overall not attractive. Slightly disjointed with minor bitterness. Lots of problems with this making it a poor choice in a market overflowing with good options.

Light, crisp chardonnay with lemony citrus flavours and a touch of tart pineapple. Some mineral notes on the finish make this a bit more interesting. Slightly acidic and uneven, but not bad for drinking on a hot day.

Anthony's restaurant Seattle Airport. Vanilla and citrous fruit nose, elegant, round with hints of butterscotch, nicely persistent and harmonious.

Lemon in the glass. Inviting nose of apple cream. Bountiful flavors of elegant pineapple, mango, butter and some almond (?!). Delicious. Well-balanced, with an unfortunately short finish.
