Lovely blackberry fruit, tar and pepper. Just perfect with our Mamoun's shwarma, lamb and hummus. Great value for $18. I saw these on sale at the winery, also, for $10 or so. Too bad shipping to NJ is so expensive. Drink now or could age

An elegant and tasty syrah. Lovely blackberry fruit notes with some tar and a little pepper. Too dry for our venison curry dish, we will save it for another day. ( Was a Coravin pour). Drink now

Really nice, the normal peppery qualities were subdued, letting more of the fruit come through without sacrificing structure. Sorry it is our last one.

Deep, opaque purple color in glass with subdued nose of baked black fruit and a touch of vanilla cream. Opens on palate with rich, plummy notes and blackberry compote, silky tannins in a food-friendly, tasty melange, perfect with barbecued lamb rack. Tasty, medium-long finish, very approachable and easy-drinking.

Muted nose. Weak mid palate and short finish. This is just an OK wine. Even on sale( $28) it's not a good QPR. No structure, lacks any kind of power. A departure from otherwise good Babcock wines ( i tried 2 of their Pinots and loved them). Would not buy again.

I wonder if this bottle was slightly corked. The nose was muted and rather musty (like cardboard) at first, but with air, some attractive fruit aromas came forward that obscured the mustiness. On the palate, the fruit was more piquant than sweet and ripe. I wasn't particularly moved by this wine, although my wife remarked more than once how much she was loving it, so it may be that it's just not my cup of tea.

Lots of cherry and plum Flavors. A little disjointed. Has potential but needs more time

Excellent Syrah. Nice balance of fruit and tannis. Little light on the after taste. Likely improve with age. Little cherry taste

Central Coast Trip; 3/30/2014-4/1/2014 : Tasted at Winery. By far the most impressive wine of the Babcock lineup we tasted. A fairly unique aroma of dark chocolate, caramel, praline, and cherry. This is indeed juicy, yet has rougher tannins which could use a few years. Drink 2015-2022 - on the earlier side if you want to enjoy that juicy fruit.

Beautiful color White pepper and grapefruit rind. Beautiful balance. A more delicate pinot-like syrah.
