Bright gold. Barley sugar, dried apricot, apple sauce, touch of marzipan. Really fine clean acidity keeps this lifted. Rich and unctuous indeed. Fairly long. Stunning value.

Last bottle. Drinking very nicely. The wine showed all the apricot, honey, and marmalade character described over two years ago and a rich, unctuous character more than made up for the reducing acidity without being cloying. Lovely wine. A small sample kept in the 'fridge was still drinking well after more than a week.

Four years since I last had this and it has improved. Tropical fruit nose, good intensity, sweet, ripe fruits, clean finish. Nice wine.

still sufficient acidity to balance the sweet fruit but not a fresh as it was in its youth. However its still very enjoyable. I also felt that it improved having been kept in fridge for a couple of weeks and seemed better on the last few samples.

Two years on from my last taste, this still has the sweet fruit - apricots, honey, marmalade and with a little marzipan developing. Still a nice wine but the freshness and acidity seem to be much reduced with 6 years bottle age, emphasising the sweetness. The younger vintages are better.

This was our post-dinner election night wine and this was great fun to drink with blue cheese. (Over 2 litres of dessert wine between the four of us was probably a bit too much.)

Mid gold. Tropical fruit noses, sweet and honeyed flavours and peachy fruit with moderate high sweetness. It's a superb wine but this one is fading.

Straw-gold colour with modest-reasonable brightness. Bold stewed / syrup apricots on the nose, backed by a hint of alcohol and faint mint / other herbs. Strong depth of flavour on the palate and high but not overpowering sweetness. Acidity is just a little light of where I'd like it. Good persistency on the finish. Perhaps missing a bit of complexity, but for the price that's a harsh criticism. Very good value and certainly worth trying again.

Lovely wine. Served with a verity of strong cheeses. Then another glass a week later and still lovely

Exceptional purity and balance. Not cloying at all. As good as the '11 I'd say and price is great as always.

My last bottle. I enjoyed this more than the Chateau Raymond Lafon 2007 I had at Xmas. Very good QPR in most vintages but the 2011 is worth seeking out.

As before - apricots, honey and sticky marmalade. Good balancing citrus acidity so it doesn't have the cloying, sugary character of so many sweeties. Excellent wine and great value.

Total agreement with SLIMES. Apricot, peach plus citrus acidity. Lovely balance and not cloying. Excellent (and good value). 6 Days later, a third of the bottle (left in tHe fridge) was still lovely. It didn't seem to have lost any of its character.

This is just so good. I'm no expert with dessert wine but the apricot and peach/orange notes from this are just delightful. Will buy again. Very good QPR.

Gold colour and viscous. Fresh fruit salad nose, a bit of honey. The palate is fresh, honeyed, pineapple, some spice, amazing balance, sweet but lovely acidity to balance it all out. So moreish you want a glass again and again. Amazing low price so deserves an amazing score.

Slightly metallic nose on opening. Mid-weight, not that much RS. Fine, but no more. Needs more zip. Think there are better SA stickies such as Mullineux and Paul Cluver.

I'm inexperienced with dessert wine but this was very enjoyable with blue cheese. One of the best picks from Majestic.

Fresh with moderate sweetness, light Chenin flavours, apples, a hint of caramel. Youthful still, pleasant but needs a few years.

Wow! This 'Straw Wine' is deliciously sweet, yet still bright, fresh and complex, with honeyed characters, lots of citrusy notes, marmalade, ripe peach and white flowers. A voluptuously textured palate with great balance, acidity and developing botrytis characters. What it lacks in finish it makes up everywhere else. Very fine indeed, imagine a slightly less complex Yquem and you are there- therefore fantastic value at £9 from Majestic. Will buy more.
