PnP and drank over 3 hours preparing, during, and after dinner. No detailed notes. Tart, almost bitter, at first. Took a good hour to open up. After that, very pleasant. Lean. Will decant next time.

Still quite youthful. The nose is complex but focused, on sweet red fruits, licorice and violet. The purity of the fruit is remarkable. Mouth not so long and tannins quite hard. Very pleasant.

I thought this was an excellent value, great, varietal character. Generous knows, red fruit, flowers. Fairly structured, palette, sour cherry, earthy notes, herbs. The tenants are present, but as far as I’m concerned, this is ready to drink, and it’s got more than enough acidity to make this refreshing.

This has improved since our last bottle 18 months ago. Much better integrated. While still modern, with some prominent alcohol, it no longer finishes hot and unpleasant. Fruit is bright and a bit too concentrated for traditionalists like me.

Alcuni commentatori ritengono questa bottiglia un buon nebbiolo e niente più. Non sono d'accordo. Questo è invece un bel Barbaresco: sebbene certamente una versione "base" e figlia dell'annata 2014. Wearing the ABV surprisingly well. Upon opening, ripe plum/black fruit, some menthol, herb, tar. With more air, tannins get more assertive. These tannins are hard and slightly astringent. It all becomes disjointed and not particularly pleasant. My hope is that in 10 years, this all pulls together.

With dinner at A Dopo pizzeria in Knoxville. Ordered reluctantly because they were out of Produttori and I knew this would be modern in style, and it sure is. Too extracted for Nebbiolo, with relatively full body and notable alcohol; there’s oak but it’s moderate. There are tannins of course but soft for a young Barbaresco, M to M- acid. Summertime 2019 - Lake House and Arlington : Young but gave excellent drinking pleasure even today. Spice-driven nose paired with lush ripe cherry flavors that are lifted by notes of orange zest and green herbs. Tannins are pronounced but silky.

Somewhat discreet Barbaresco - probably still young. Great vintage, needs time to open up its charms. Gently fragrant nose of violets and roses, cinnamon and leather. Fresh pipe tobacco and white pepper on the finish. Light body, good structure, not excessively acidic, low tannin. Good. Shows promise.

I didn't have expectations on this 2014 Barbaresco but it surprised me. Nice red color, but not so intense. Quite complex at the nose and in the mouth, with a good balance of acidity, tannins and a good structure. Where it's lacking, like all 2014s..too little persistence.

Smooth, but not terribly complex. Tastes a little more like langhe Nebbiolo than full fledged barbaresco. That being said, it’s offered at a langhe Nebbiolo price.
