This is drinking very well. Still a good amount of fruit, currant, black cherry, plum. Cedar, tobacco, some barnyard elements. Good balance and acidity. Nice length.

About as good as one could hope for in a 32 year old bottle. In amazingly good shape, thanks to excellent storage. On opening there’s some earthy funk in the nose - black truffle, soil, mushroom. Cranberry poking through, slight whiff of mint on top. On the palate, a little thin at first. Acidity is low, but over ten to fifteen minutes the fruit starts to appear. Remains light, but that delightful aroma doesn’t fade and keeps pulling me back …

What you want in a 30-year old cabernet - cedar and pencil lead, a whiff of dried currant. It has a lovely texture and balance. Surprisingly good. I assume it was well-stored, because it surely doesn't seem tired, dried out or past prime. This bottle came from a fellow named John's cellar, and was opened at his memorial service. Cheers, and peace to him and to his family.

Good, but definitely past its prime, not much fruit left

Bottle had turned. Prune and vineyard flavors overwhelmed the fading fruit. I recently had another one from this vintage that was rather nice. This bottle was not.
