Calem Porto Vintage Quinta de Sagrado

Needs several days to air out. I suggest opening and patiently sipping a little each day until after 4 days, then it will be perfectly mature and ready to drink. Great aromatics of an herb garden with middle-eastern spices and old barrel characteristics; like molasses and smoke. Truly a very enjoyable Port but you must have patience when opening. Suggest paring with chocolate brownies and almonds; it's really hedonistic stuff!

No formal notes, but this is very nice! Complex, flavourful and well integrated alcohol. Very enjoyable!

Inga noter men det här är bra! Mycket kraft, mycket smaker, mycket komplexitet. Enormt mycket fällningar så behöver dekanteras både pga det och för luften till vinet. Jag tänker köpa några till om jag hittar. 94 är helt uppenbart ett riktigt bra portår och Calem är definitivt inget undantag!

Dark red. Very ripe roasted nose, prunes, roasted plums, vanilla, spice and a hint of scorched earth. Sweet ripe roasted flavours and a sweet tannic finish. Very dark and ripe style. Probably will stay the same for decades.

Sampling the December 8, 2017 new releases (små partier) from Systembolaget (Systembolaget, Stockholm) : Camphor and cloves, dark chocolate, acidity and quite structured. Complex. (88-90)

Wont be rating this as I fear it stood on the store's shelf's for far too long a time. Pleasant w chocolate flavors, finish fairly long though the whole experience is fairly one-dimensional, though balanced from beginning to end. After 3 days in decanter it seems to be at its best so far, earlier on it felt brash in the mouth. Edit: Tasting it again later on the 3rd day, it is even more pleasant to drink. Not sure how …

In half a year, this wine has become over due.

It´s ready! still powerful in it´s own smooth and pleasant way. with the limited potential it comes out full range. Nice long finish and structure is the strong impression that this Sagrado holds. Chocolate mousse and honey soaked strawberries made a good companion.

Not a very impressive wine. Quite a good QPR but seems to be very unbalanced and unstructured. The fruit is a bit hollow and there is too much alcohol dominating the profile.

Fine port in the beginning of its maturity. Super QPR. Drink now - 2020
