Pleasant nose of dark and tart red fruits, hints of leather. Fruit tastes of blueberry, dark fruit, and bitter dark chocolate with mineral tastes throughout. Medium to full bodied, firm fine-grained tannins. 3,19,6,3,4;50=85

Medium to deep purple. Healthy legs. Cherry notes with the merest suggestion of baking spice on the nose. Maybe a little blackberry after a few minutes. Palate follows nose, slightly tart cherry with medium acidity and soft powdery tannins. More baking spice on the medium finish. Gets a bit more herbaceous and acidic as time goes on. Medium body, boldish. Off-dry. It’s a pleasant, unassuming red. I could see it going with bold meaty flavors. Regulated by the Denominazione di …

Pretty good, but not as developed as the 2018. Compared to that vintage this 2019 seems lighter in the glass, leaner, fresher, more fruit forward on the palate, and less complex overall. That said there are some similarities like the reduction that needs to blow off (don't just PnP --you need to give it air!), bright acidity, earthy aromas and flavors, and a short finish. I'd still argue this offers good value if you can pick up a bottle for …

Colour: medium ruby red, legs are medium, no sediment Nose: resin, smoke, cherry, bay leaf Mouth: dense cherry, plum, medium acidity well balanced by some fruit sweetness, some smoke/resin, balsamic notes Finish: some smoke, lingering acidity, ripe tannins slightly grippy, oppulent A very interesting high quality Montepulciano d Abruzzo, very unique taste profile, would be a great fit to a ragou or to some porcini mushrooms

Tre Biccheri Grand Tour (DTLA, los Angeles CA) : There is a noticeable tomato note that hits right away before leaning into tones of red cherries, cranberries, fresh herbs, spice notes, and some roses. The tomato note is distracting while the fruit comes off as slightly simple. The Medium bodied feel is balanced, but still simple with crisp, medium+ acidity and stiff, medium+ tannins. This is fine enough. It comes off as a bit simple and the tannins are a …

This tasty Montepulciano is reddish-purple in the glass, with dense appearance. Aromas of blackberries, spice, and smoke. Dark fruit flavors, including blackberries, plums, and subtle smoky notes. Well-balanced after brief decanting. Firm structure holds well with flavorful meats — Italian sausage, pizza, etc.

Blueberry, nice acidity, and unexpected but welcome tannin on the finish. Great pizza wine.

It was a bit harsh - tannic and flavorless. I tried to let it develop some aromas but wasn't successful. For the price, I was not impressed. I've tasted better at a much more affordable price.

Given to me as a Christmas gift. Opened and poured immediately. Old Wold styled wine. Initially very scant nose, but eventually opened up with aromas of black/blue fruit. Again, first tasted harsh, with overwhelming heat, tannins and scant fruit. Eventually, flavors of blackberries and cherry, along with heavy oak developed. Not a balanced or well integrated wine, too much tannin, oak, and acidity. Second day was similar. Maybe additional cellaring will help.

Nice bouquet of red fruit against a vanilla background, with perhaps a hint of blueberry. Good legs. There was cherry and currant on the front palate. However, the tannins were not well-integrated, the acidity was out-of-balance to the light side, and the alcohol stepped on the cherry finish, mostly ruining the promising beginning. This weakness regarding the finish was more difficult to discern when this wine was paired with food. I tasted this at a store tasting, but I did …
