I wanted to try an example of the 2003 "heat wave" vintage in Burgundy and I guess this delivered. Over ripe, almost jammy red fruits on the nose, and a little bit of smoked wood and vanilla. Medium + intensity of aromas. Smells VERY new world, probably due to a combination of the hot weather and winemaking. Drinking very well right now. Still has bright red fruit while also sporting some tertiary characteristics. Well balanced and elegant.
