Some strawberry notes in the mouth, slightly off-dry. A bit simple but competent, what's not to like!

Simple clean strawberry notes. Decent value with (frequently available) 25% off deal.

Pale lemon colour. Creamy, lactic pear-lemon nose, a touch unclean. Peachy taste, but too much bitterness. Maybe an off bottle, so unrated. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £16].

lovely nose - bready and lemony bitter orange notes Showing lots of autolysis character very nutty, walnuts, long finish If i'm being critical, it is perhaps a bit lacking in the middle but I love that finish. Might also be a bit too oxidative for some 16.5/20

I picked a bottle with an older-style label (the newer ones have a banner with "Winemaker's Selection" or some such). Virtually colourless but a lovely smell, round and creamy, tangy and fruity. Great taste, perhaps this has enough bottle age for the acidity to have become a little softened. Excellent value. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, on offer at £18].

Work Wine Tasting - Spain (Home) : Three years post purchase aging. Crisp, clean and fresh, just starting to develop a creamy edge, but primarily this is still about chalky citrus cut and line. ***

Very good value for money especily when on offer. yeasty nose but went away fairly quickly or I just got used to it. Fresh and pleasing. produced by Duval-leroy, Marne, France. Normal price £20.00 on offer at Sainsbury's £18.00 03-Sept-2015. Gold Medal Winner - International Wine Challenge 2015. 12%, 100% Chardonnay grape. It accompanied my fish pie very well.

Pale. Light nose. Very elegant taste. Lime cordial, precise acidity. Young, could age well, but a nice wine already. D-L know what they're doing with chardonnay. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, £20]

Good BdeB Champagne - nothing particularly exciting but clean acidity and a chalky / mineral finish. 2 years in cellar.

Pale lemon, plentiful bead. Fine citrus, granny smith, and white flower nose. Lovely round, fruity taste. Quite tropical and full. Apple and orange, maybe pineapple and nectarine. Good sherbetty acidity and mouthfilling mousse. D-L make excellent wines at the lower end of the price range (and higher!), especially chardonnay - and this is a great demonstration. At this price, really fine indeed. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; on offer at £16].

Ivory colour. Mild, sweetly honeyed nose. Unexpected flavour. Pear, flowers. Not far from a prosecco, albeit with a raciness and intensity that the latter can never attain. Good, albeit straightforward. [Cork + cage; 12% abv; Sainsbury's, reduced from £22.50 to £17.50]

Christmas & New Year 2013; 12/20/2013-1/1/2014 : Fresh, clean, very decent. Can see the Duval Leroy lineage. Maybe not the class and intensity of some (eg 04 DL BdeB), but really decent for what it is. Nicely chalky and fresh. ***

This was fresh on the palate with some sharpness at the end. It had that just slightly burnt brioche aftertaste not uncommon in champagnes. Blanc de blanc are more variable and when done well beat the classic blends. This one is on a par with them.

Light golden colour, fresh floral nd citrus nose with a little yeast. Plenty of lemon, lime on the palate, a touch of chardonnay savour, but also a sweeter lemon sherbet character. The finish is surpisingly long, again carrying through the citrus theme, but there is a mineral tang towards the tail end of the finish which makes this quite interesting. High scorer on the Hugh Johnson scale :). Very enjoyable, good balance, incredibly moreish.

On the nose a hint of dough and some flowery notes. On the palate dry but enough fruit not to make it brutally so. Unsurprisingly nothing profound but a good refreshing champagne, and who's complaining at 12 quid a bottle. As the previous taster suggests perfectly quaff-able crowd pleaser, ideal for entertaining the hordes over Christmas!

Light citrusy nose light helping of butter, fresh Chardonnay. Nice balance of acidity quite refreshing, lacks character good aperitif , middle of the road crowd pleaser.
