Becky Wasserman & Fils Bourgogne Le Jardin de Charlotte

Had a bottle of this squirreled away for possible cooking purposes. Opened it today thinking there was no way it would even be good for cooking. Wine sas closed by plastic cork. Color was ruby and there was little oxidation. It was quaffable but not interesting or even pleasant. BUT, it's remarkable that this inexpensive Bourgogne is still serviceable after 19 years.

On the nose I found vanilla cream, tart berries, leather, cedar, earth, spice, and black cherries. In the mouth I got flavors of raspberry, black cherry, more red fruit, red cherries, a little earth, and spice. I found the fruit to be tart and fresh, with the mouth showing darker than I anticipated from the mouth.

Gee, I'm surprised to be the first to enter this wine, which is already well distributed in my little corner of NJ. It's made under the auspices of renowned importer Becky Wasserman, though it's the first time to my knowledge she's put her own label on a wine.
