Popped n' poured last nite with Lombardos Italian w/the Ps. The wine looks its age. Earthy mushrooms on the nose, w/a slight hint of vanilla. Light to medium body, black cherry fruit still evident, along with lots of earth and forest elements. The wine has taken on a savory/rustic character still, however, with a sufficiently satisfying level of fruit. Surprisingly well-preserved and enjoyable.

Nicely matured sangiovese with earthy red cherries and a bit of old oak.

Made to have with food as tannins lay down. Nice color and easy drinking

Dark ruby red with aromas and flavors of cherries and some sandlewood....needed time to open up. Rich, medium bodied, smooth, good level of acidity. Clean, medium finish.

Delish! Fabulous with eggplant parmesan. We were actually very surprised this was still drinking so well. Best QPR from Italy we've ever had. Glad we have one more.

Served for light lunch over a cold weekend in Bayfield. More delicate then I had projected, did not hold up well to a 7 year old white cheddar. Alcohol and spice on the tip of the tongue. Slight tobacco and current fruit on the soft palate, slight vanilla on the left and right axis of the tongue. Think I would drink up in the next 12-18 months, will not last to the 2014 goal. If to pair with food in …

Wow, this is getting really good. I was a little worried, given some of the recent tasting notes, but this wine was very enjoyable. By far the best bottle I've had. Medium bodied, good acidity, lots of dark tart cherries, some licorice, earth, spices. Hint of leather and smoke on the nose. Still plenty of tannins and a good med-long finish. Perfect with eggplant parmigiana. Drink now and over next 24-36 months.

Classical VNdM, leather, briary, stylish, supple. Fully mature, lively balance. Excellent accompaniment to lamb cutlets.

Very shallow for a Tuscan. Expected much more from a 2004 at this price. Very poor showing. Much better 2004 Vino Noblie's for the price.

Classy. Needs time in the glass to start showing. Vinturi and another hour in this case

Nesten gjennomtrukket kork.

Earth tones, smoked meat, leather and cherries on the nose. Medium bodied and a little gamey on the palate, but just enough fruit to bring some acidity. Long finish.

Popped and poured, no sign of seepage on this bottle. Excellent drinking right away and over the course of a 3 hour meal. Lots of dark fruits and a lovely earthiness to this wine. Acidity level is perfect for food. Nicely balanced, only 13% alcohol. Great QPR.

Starting to show some brick hues and watery edges, so the age is beginning to come through. Slight oxidation on the nose, complemented by ripe fruit and secondary aromas of earth and spice. A bit unbalanced on the palette with sharp acidity and much softer tannins, but very good when paired with a sweet tomato sauce. Overall, I think this is in its prime drinking period and I wouldn't wait any longer to crack these.

After 1+ hour in a glass this really smooths out (initially a bit disjoined) and shows some smoky cherries, floral and cedary component on the nose. On the palate this is savory and juicy, quite dry but nice sour cherries, lather, wood and acidic long finish. Very old world. Sadly my last bottle. The cork was soaked almost throughout so I was glad that I didn't way longer.

Very good especially after half an hour or so. Ready to drink now although I suspect it might soften a little more in the next year or so.
