Still enjoyable though showing its age and beginning to separate. The 15.2% abv unfortunately is taking its toll. All that said, it has a lovely mature nose and the fruit is very deep and luscious. Has some baked tomato note but dominant notes are marzipan, caramel, port wine. The longer this ages, the more it becomes the style of its location “Maury”.

Cork was soft, not a good sign. Palate was thick with prune and raisin. With the high alcohol, this seemed a dessert wine. I hope this bottle was bad and that the remaining two are truer to form. This wine had been decadent and lovable in the past.

Dark red with brown tones. Opened up in glass after 15 minutes. Nose is ripe strawberry, caramel, black banana peel. Palate is silky and rich with flavor, blueberry, extra ripe banana, faint black pepper. Sweeter flavors but consistent (and better) than most other 100% Grenache. Im surprised by the hit or miss reviews here. This bottle is delicious. Have one more left, so time will tell.

A little jammy on opening. Softened after a while but not really a clean expression of the grape. Overzealous American winemaking in the south of France, no thanks, just let the French do it!

Wines with Pizza with the neighbors (Tom and Betty's) : Purple in color. The nose has black cherries and spice and fresh cut lumber. On the palate, dark cherries. Plenty of heat, especially on the finish. I think this would benefit from a cooler serving temperature. It seemed quite disjointed to me.

Very big, New World style. Decanted for a couple hours before consuming, which I think improved the wine markedly. This is a dark, fruit-forward wine with a lot of alcohol, big sweet blueberry flavors and some vanilla. Not terribly complex and lacking a great deal of structure, but enjoyable and a nice accompaniment to ribs and BBQ sauce. This is an early drinker, but I would definitely allow some time for air and include a similar pairing.

Despite the 15.2% ABV, no burn on the palate. Nice dark fruit on the nose with medium length on the palate. Nicely lacking in the typical granache earthiness or funk. Good acidity to pair with food.

Paired with chicken fajitas. This was a pop and pour. Not a bad wine for the price, but somehow didn't quite do it for me. Very bright red fruits, maybe missing a bit of acidity. Was just on the borderline of too much/gloppy and while it didn't quite cross over it wasn't as clean as I would have liked.

Dark blue and black fruits with an elevated level of alcohol. Tannins were mostly resolved. A big wine that was a tad overt for my taste. This is Orin Swift so no real surprises here, if you like his wines generally then this should work well. Overall a well made wine.
