After an impressive entry of fruit. leather and coffee, the wine falls apart. The finish is pretty short. Drink up until 2022. If you are fearless and want to lift up your enjoyment blend this wine (3:1) with a cabernet franc from Loire Valley. That brings out the Quality of the wine.

At 12 years old this wine is still pretty youthful, although I don't think it's going to necessarily get much better with age. Its tannins are already calm enough and the fruit is pretty exuberant for a Bordeaux; almost California-like once that old world nose blows off. A solid Cru Bourgeois from a hot vintage.

Dinner with Soni and Birgit (Vienna) : Clearly from a hot year, quite extracted with a slighlty bitter finish. Only medium long finish, not very impressive. I think there still could be some development, the wine didn't move overnight in the fridge. Last bottle, I think and I am not sad about it. Very good. Drink or hold.

Short impressions: Drinks very well now, a bit soft from the hot year but nothing is lacking. Not a great wine but a very nice semi-mature claret. Excellent. Drink now.

Excellent wine. Good balance between fruit and tanins. Fairly concentrated, with some comlexity and approximatley 20 second aftertaste. Immediately after opening the bottle the wine had a somewhat curious but not unpleasant taste, which had disappeared after approximately half an hour in the caraffe. Decanting probably advisable. Fine Bordeaux bouquet which does not immediately jump from the glass. The wine has opened up but is still youthfull. Am glad that I have stlill 11 bottles left.

Completely shut down - no fruit whatsoever. I hope this comes around.

Slight but fine nose, needs time. Not a huge wine but a complete one

2003 Bordeaux - barrel samples tasting (ChateauOnline offices, Paris, France) : (barrel sample) Very fruity and fresh, a typical St Estèphe, slightly lacking in structure and concentration. Probably a wine that can be drunk rather quickly.
