Didn’t pick much up on the nose, a little lime and white peach. Stunning on the palate, such a light presence with powerful depth of flavour. So energetic while being so delicate. White tea, peach and pear on the front with a mouthwatering and long crystalline finish. The balance here is unreal and so refreshing. ❤️❤️

94/95. 7% Up with my best Riesling ever with lovely chalk hints a lovely super elegant texture and palate feel and is weightless but profound with world class length. Had this with Salmon En Croute and Spargel and was a good match

Just wow. Beautiful pale yellow. Nose wasn’t too exciting but it lit up in my mouth. First hit with tart green apple, followed shortly with a light lemon/custardy note and stony minerality. Acidity was mouthwatering. So well structured and lengthy. Leaves you wanting more.

Apéritif before BBQ. At the beginning, a bit reductive and shy on the nose, but after some time aromas of white peach, lemon and slate emerge. Develops significantly with some air. Airy, full of flavour and great start on a hot day like this.

AP #4, 8% ABV. Cork in excellent condition. Bright golden color. Nose of petrol, honey, slate, lime, green apple, brown spices. The palate is integrated, grapefruity and earthy, soft and juicy but not thin, finishing savory and peachy. Delicious, very different from the zippy young kabinetts. But at age 27 for a kabinett from a mediocre vintage, this is probably past prime.

German white wine from Mosel: Riesling. 7,5 % alcohol. AP number #01 23. 750 ml bottle. Decanted and stored in the decanter during the evening. Light golden/greenish color. Sweet, crisp and delicate aromas of ripe pear, bicycle store, candied lime fruit, white peach, white flowers, stone dust and minerals. Intense, powerful and fresh flavors of lemon, candied lime fruit, elderflower, nectarine, yogurt, crushed white stones and minerals. Off-dry. Medium- body. Fresh acidity. Very good balance. Very good structure. Some complexity. …

A beautifully expressive nose of white peach, petrol and slate springs from the glass. The palate provides great weight and mid palate density with a racy acidity to cut through a sweetness that is slightly overbearing for a kabinett. Melon and peach persist on the long and structured finish. Really quite good stuff that will benefit from a few more years in the cellar.

I just love 2021 Kabinett and this one is particularly great! The wine smells of floral honey, ripe peaches, some lemon zest, a slight hint of slate and a salty freshness. Very complex nose for a Kabinett. The acidity is high an super refreshing. Sweetnes and acidity are perfectly balanced. A very energetic wine! Ripe yellow fruits and salinity dominate the palate. Long finish carried by sweetnes and acidity.

Hard to say something that hasn't been said about this wine yet. It's great! Very clear color with almost no pigment. Nose is all citrus, orchard fruits and honeydew melon. On the palate the acidity is mouth-watering! Tangerine, grapefruit, honeydew melon, pear, green apple with a lot of minerality and a very long finish. This is great stuff but I'd let it rest for a long time still as the fact that it can take a lot more age is …

Light pale golden yellow in color. Full, forward & fragrant nose of ripe fruit aromas of sweet peaches, pears & apples with overtones of floral notes of honeysuckle, orange zest, honey, spices, minerals & touch of slate in the background. Medium bodied with a very good concentration of well balanced & smooth texture, zesty, ripe fruit flavors of stone fruits of yellow peaches, apricots & nectarines with citrus notes, honey, spices, chalky & minerals. Excellent balance between the sweetness & …

It's evident how these wines are meant to age. Si capisce quanto questi vini siano fatti per invecchiare.

This is my kind of Riesling! Love the producer, and the style! Just ordered more, before it goes empty in stock :) Pineapple, red, sweet apples, ripe, but just ripe fruits. Papaya, mango, white peach, star fruit and golden pear. Slaty, stony and refreshing. Brilliant acidity, but not too high. Perfectly balanced, great for a glass at the terrace, or with Asian food (odon noodles, sushi, umami dishes) I could drink this all week long!!

Transparent im Glas. Steht da wie ganz frisch abgefüllt. Balancierte Süß-Säure, keine Spätlese oder quietschsüße Kabi Variation. Reifepotential ohne Ende. Lange nicht am Höhepunkt, aktuell vermutlich viel zu schade ihn zu trinken. Da machen auch Vertreter beim halben Preis genau so viel Spaß. Probiere die nächste ab 2029 und später zu trinken.

On the nose, there is a very restrained Sponti stinker, followed by ripe yellow fruit and subtle green apple, wet stone and a restrained hint of caraway and curry. The wine is still rather restless on the palate on the first day, but improves on the second and even better on the third. This is a very lively wine. At first it is full-bodied, creamy with peach and a little pineapple, lots of minerality and a restrained and elegant, feather-light …

Decanted half a day – and it could likely have sat there for a week plus in the decanter with no worse for the wear. Like a few high end 2021's I have had so far – the color… so clear and transparent and quite frankly deceptive as to what is soon to unfurl once it goes in the pie hole. Tightly coiled, but the raw material is tremendous, white stone fruits, slate and acidity for days………it doesn’t really register …

Fresh nose with lime, peaches, fennel seeds and herbs. Intriguing. Palate is high in acidity but mellows down by the residual sugar. Very nice sweet/sour play with loads of energy. Probably one of the best Kabinett I ever tasted.

Energetic, the sweet fruit is balanced by a perfect natural acidity, incredible drink animating, white fruit, hints of vanilla, cool, there is a lot to discover. Sweet Kabinett from Moselle at its best, brilliant!

JJ Prum - 2021 range tasting : Smoky and slate, reductive to start but with with pear and peach emerging as the reduction blows off. Stylish ripe palate with plenty of acidity to support. Lifting well with air but needs some time in the glass.

Day 2. This was really sour and ornery last night so I waited until today and gave it a good shake. Beautiful nose of peach, red apple, lime, sponti, kaffir lime, vanilla creme, stately minerals. It’s very light on its feet but also creamy and deep. Great on the palate as well. Full of sweet orchard fruits and tart lime. Dusty minerals with some saline. Lime pith. This is classic and light and also packed full of flavor. Crisp and …

A little funk at first but then blows off. Richer somehow than the ‘15, higher acid but very good. Interesting, I wonder if this will integrate or maintain vibrancy. I’m still really enjoying it.

Lemon yellow; aromatic, some sulfur at first which blows off, peaches and lime; medium bodied, vibrant medium-plus acidity, nice sweetness, low alcohol, lemon-lime, interestingly a bit of lychee/tropical; medium-long finish. Young but a lot of potential. 92

Dinner at Peking Duck House, NYC the night before Lily's Bat Mitzvah. AP#11-79. Opened as a wine from the year of my Bar Mitzvah. Not a vintage I've ever heard of as being anything great in the Mosel but JJ Prum rarely if ever disappoints when the bottle is well stored. Light to medium yellow in the glass, this was a delicate version of Wehlener Sonnenuhr with the green apple notes typical of the vineyard, petrol/minerality on the palate and …

Prum Wehlener Sonnenhur Dinner (Peach Farm, Chinatown, Boston) : Apples, a little peach, slate. Just beginning secondary flavors including some brown spices. Still young and a small amount two days later was better still. My second favorite of the flight.
