BearBoat Pinot Noir

Color is light burgundy, typical PN. Nose at first is extremely fruity, but a candy fruit, like grape soda or grape taffy, then after a short while the super-sweet fruit nose goes away and you get a strong petrol nose, with some leather and tobacco, and riper fruits. Flavors of a watery fruit mixture, some alcohol, somewhat hot but clean and abrupt finish - not very complex overall, but pleasant enough.

A surprising Wednesday night dinner - rolled veal with proscuitto and rice and snap peas. Jill, Ben, Dan and me eating all together mid-week. The wine also a pleasant surprise - I had forgotten we had it (used to drink it all the time). Enjoyed it very much at cellar temp.

Very enjoyable wine. Fairly simple and straight-forward, but good fruit.
