Cult Growers & The Next Generation: Prévost vs. Selosse (Yingtao NYC) : Power and structure. Citrus, bruised apple, hazelnut, chalk dust. Rich mid-palate with notable grip; unmistakably Selosse in tone. Long, palate-coating finish. Impressive presence.

Jacques Selosse is hands down my favourite winemaker. It's really not close either. But for some inexplicable reason, I had yet to try Guillaume Selosse's 'Largillier' (despite having had vintage examples of Coessen's 'Largillier'). This was really fabulous. Red fruited with lots of apple skin and cinnamon stick with the patina of age and long lees contact. A wine of incredible aroma, texture and concentration and sought after for good reason.

Sept 2019 dg. Great depth and oxidative complexity. Nice length on the palate. Very, very good.

D 9/20. Good evolution on the nose dominated by spices. Ripe stone fruit. Well balanced between richness and minerality. Worked well with white asparagus with jamon and hollandaise.

Deep and vinous, pure Pinot Noir, candied fruit, huge energy, deep and spicy, delicately nutty, creamy mousse, gentle bitters, long and minerally finish.

Wines in France; 4/10/2025-4/20/2025 : At La Sommeliere. Didn't understand the bottle that I had last year but this was on fire. Oxidative but superb acidity and freshness, layered red fruit with some spice on the palate. Beautiful champagne.

didn't note the disgorgement, you have to download an app... :/ didn't love this, it's rather oxidative, and though it has pleasant intensity and notable complexity, I just can't get beyond the oxidative stuff, it got more interesting with air though...

Amazing wine, ripe stone fruits, oxidative notes, caramel, confit lemon, bruised apple, some spice, intense, can definitely taste who made this. I understand these are no longer being made.

Rest. Bissoh in Beaune. No disgorgement date on the back, no dosage info. A big no go, WTF, agree with Acyso. However, I did like the Champagne a lot. Beautiful bruised apples, sweet spices. Youthful and bubbly.

RN74; 10/5/2024-10/11/2024 (Beaune, France) : Didn't do the NFC thing to get the disgorgement on this (what an annoying process). Fresh, bright, and energetic, but for my palate missing a bit of roundness, in that the acidity comes on a bit too strong. I slightly preferred the Initial alongside.

Disgorged 15 May 2018. Consumed over two hours. Nose of brioche and ripe stone fruits. Fkavors of ripe stone fruit, bread, and zesty lemon. Moderate + complexity. Long lingering finish that increased with exposure to air. Drinking well right now, with lots of upside. 92-94.
