Medium to deeper gold. Quite a lot of oxidative development already, a slightly worrying flatness, but catches up in the glass, eventually gets livelier and actually drinks best after a few hours of aeration. But probably time to finish these sooner than later.

At a tasting: Light medium golden pineapple, luscious attack, off-dry, medium acidity, nutty finish. Good balance, okay length, okay intensity, okay complexity. Harvested with a hint of green in color but mature. From old vines, with deeper roots, planted in 1930-1940s at left bank and fermented in Stainless steel.

Matthiasson with Steve and Jill (Flatiron, SF) : Young and un-developed with fresh aromas of citrus and light apple. A distinctive slatey mineral note and great textural breadth on the palate. Acid is high but not super high.

Very delicious and true Chablis in character. Ripping acidity with serious zing. Great value. Loving these 14s.

Some young (almost green) pineapple in the nose and mouth. Plenty of white flowers as well. Refreshing.

White fruits, wet rocks and minerals. Almost no color, but what a bouquet and mouth. A perfect addition to the turkey and a holiday table.

2014 Chablis from Patrick Piuze (Grappe, Stockholm) : The nose is smoky with yellow apples and rather ripe yellow fruit (at least for a Chablis), some spice notes that hints at oak treatment, and light flowery notes. The palate is distinctly dry with green and yellow apples, good concentration, high acidity, and mineral. The aftertaste is rather fruity and mineral-dominated. A rather young wine, but reasonably approachable now, 88(+) p. This wine was slightly more powerful than the 2014 Terroir …

A small spring selection (Prince wine store) : Steely minerality, apple, lemon, slight butter…tart citrus, mid palate burr…a bit sharp for me…

Almost no color, very very pale. A touch of apple and pear on the nose; none of the lemon acidity seen in some Chablis. Very refreshing; worth trying again.

There's some fruity esther things at first but a little time in the glass and it defaults back to all things geological and Chablis-like. It has a rainwater purity to it and is cool and rocky. It has good detail for its level and the finish is dense, dry and chalky.
