I saw the 90 pt rating. (Thanks.) So I bought one to try. Best Chianti I've had, but I haven't had many. Scent of strawberry and a little white wine yeastiness upon opening. The yeastiness dissipates quickly. The wine benefits from 30 minutes of air. Light on the tongue. Bright red fruit, strawberry, and acid up front, but with some lingering dark fruit depth on the finish. 90-92 pts. My wife likes a good Chianti. She said she would drink …

Pop and pour with spaghetti and meatballs. Ripe fruits and herbs on the nose. A bit overripe but nice chewy tannins. Almost a little too astringent, forward acid. Decent finish. Definitely a bit on the sweet side for Chianti. Reasonable weeknight pizza/pasta wine. What I would expect from a $12 Chianti, nothing more.

Decanted for 30 min. Nice fruit and not over oaked. A little spicy. Dry but not as bone dry as other Classico’sthat I’ve had.

14% abv. Very good Chianti Classico for $13. Fairly round and ripe style with plenty of wood and leather tones. Pretty simple, but easy to drink.
