Sylvain Cathiard Nuits St. Georges 1er Cru Aux Thorey

tasted blind, cornucopia of red fruits with some definite oak treatment, modern styled, and needing 5+ more years I think, when unveiled as Cathiard it all clicked.

Acker 2019/09; 9/5/2019-9/7/2019 (Le Bernardin Prive, Marea) : Lovely depth, ripe black fruit, hearty spice, some herbal notes. Firm tannin that is so expansive. 93

Wine dinner, few attendees, lots of great wines. (Champagne, Burgundy, Bordeaux, many older bottles)) (My place, Copenhagen, Denmark) : Brought by a friend. Four people shared 16 bottles of wine and this was number 15 so at this point, I should probably not be rating them. I remember, that it was a very good wine, but the characteristics, you will have to read about somewhere else...

This has depth and concentration that transcends the vintage. Dark berry fruit with spice, violets and earth that is focused and balance. Terrific palate coverage. I dig this!

Uncles Fine Wine Club’s - Spontaneous wine tasting event at Tords : Lovely Pinot nose - bright red fruit, white pepper, a bit earthy, milk chocolate and blueberry. Concentration is hough on the palate but it is still young, tannic and austere. This one is very good now but will turn after some years.

Expressive, pure fruit, spices and earthy notes on the nose showing considerable depth. On the palate very well structured, good acidity, seriously powerful tannins, very nice length but pretty grippy at this early stage. Needs time, but very promising. 91-92+
