Zinfandels (Red not white, per Liz) (Liz's) : Slow o'd for 2 hours, and had a small pour at a tasting. From a glass stopper, the fruit on this wine was beautiful. Pretty. Elegant, lean oak. At a tasting of 19 zins, this stood apart as being different.

This vintage was a touch more rustic with quite noticeable acidity. I just feel it needed a bigger fruit presence to balance that acidity. Still a very good wine with firm tannins.

Very nice. Much more refined than I was expecting. Great fruit with a pleasant backbone.

In a good place. It will last longer, but will lose that exuberant Zin note I think. A nose of raspberries, bramble and pepper. Full bodied. This is serious and ripe. A bit of heat showing. Still, went well with a spicy tomato bisque.

Doris loved this wine. big nose of cherries, spices, dark fruits. Great mouth feel, well integrated tannins. Concentrated flavors of cherries but well balanced with tannins. A really nice Zin and great with heavy meats and cheeses.

Really good right now. Purple/ruby in color. The nose is filled with black cherries, some oak, and bramble. On the palate, this is juicy black cherry pie filling in the best way. Great acidity. Great black cherry fruit. Certainly more black cherry than the typical black raspberry if California Zin. Food friendly. Delicious.

Nearly opaque crimson in hue. Gorgeous legs. Modest and meaty body. Decanted for 3 hours. A bold red with berries, white pepper, and heat on the nose and palette complete with a silky and long finish. A truly elegant and alluring Zinfandel that highlights the caliber of Old Vine blocks and showcases Oregon's the Pines 1852 vineyard.

Purple with medium viscosity in the glass. Licorice, cherry pie, vanilla, black fruit and fig on the nose. Med-full body with vibrant cranberry on the palate. Oily mouthfeel. Chalky tannin. Med-long finish. Delicious.

Willamette Valley - Tasted at winery : Really nice. Dark color, dense wine. Black cherries, berries, smoke. Balanced but hefty. (Doris: Yes)
