Domaine Henri Perrusset Mâcon-Villages

From magnum; darker color is a little disconcerting; nose confirms the significant age and development, lots of bruised orchard fruit, almonds and other nutty notes, weighty and lacking much backbone on the palate; was rooting for this but sadly it was not to be.

Seems to be a little over the hill. I detected faint sulfur.

Can't help myself once again for a revisit, splendid nose, chalky and almondy, sweet and buttery palate, so soothing!

Have to revisit it again because of its charm, the nose is simply wonderful! Very enjoyable but not decadent! Nice! Please see my previous note!

Meet my full expectation of a decent bottle of Bourgogne except it lacks the depth and scale of a great one! Light yellow golden colour! Exotic nose of white stone fruits along with a dash of hazelnut and a touch of mineral, also a hint of butter and speaking of it, the texture itself is very buttery with enough amounts of vibrant fruits, super easy to drink, I pair this with a little piece of grilled fish and they match …

Had a glass before dinner. Great concentration and intensity on the palate and into the finish. Brings sugary lemon drops, ripe honeydew, cantaloupe, and lingering hints of kiwi-lime on the tail. Linear, but well polished and balanced. Drink 2018-2020. Technical score: 90. Enjoyment score: 91.

Full of brambles and stone fruit, this is Chardonnay with character. Fleshy with a bit of fat, this also retains minerality and a really bright citrus lift at the end. There were hints of toffee and spun sugar on the finish, so I suspect these need drinking soon, but a really lovely everyday bottle of wine.

Delicious. For the first time with this wine I tasted very distinctive butterscotch notes.

Macon is almost always a good place to head for reliably fresh unadorned, terroir driven, old vine chardonnay at a rock solid value. This is another fun version with plenty of lift and yet a softness too. Calm, almost lush, with no overt oak influence. Believe this is mostly tank fermented. Lemon, apple, pear, honey and minerality. While not especially complex this is harmonious, balanced and hit the spot with pan fried walleye tonight. Paid just short of $16 for …

Good wine at a good price point

45F. PnP. Medium light yellow. Nose with honey, oak(?). Light with good acid and lemon-lime, apple, kiwi, stone. Pretty typical macon and very respectable. Will be good as appertif, with fish, fowl. Medium finish. Respectable but not exceptional at this price point overall.
